i remember seeing his comback fights on fox sports and he lost to some opponets that i didn't even know, he also lost to kirino garcia but was givin the decision, it was a crazy fight his balance his condition just really let him down in the garcia fight.

i remember they got a nutritionist to evalute him and he said reid needed to go jump in weight and he did and it was still the same situation, he had stamina prolbems especailly at the end and then his legs became weak later on in his boxing career.

the saying is that trinidad ruined him and that fight did damage him but their were signs before and rushing him didn't help either. this is why i think they are not rushing ward they are taking his career very slow.

maybe asina sensation can get an intereview, i know he is now a boxing writer, and i think the interview would be great with the right questions.
His comeback fights were sad to watch. It was obvious the Trinidad fight took it's toll. The fact there has been no news in the recent years on Ried, I guess is good news. I would hate to see in the news for something negative.

      very true!

i wasn't a fan of ricardo williams but its a messed up story, of what happened to him. i hope hes doing good and get back in the ring and try again.

i don't know why williams wasn't fighting at lightweigt, if i remember he was fighting at jr. welterweight and to me it looked like he could have fougth at lightweight and been more effective.

i believe pat burns will be training taylor, but steward will be the head trainer during the fight against winky.

personally, i really think taylor has to make his move up to 168, and make it fast. he has grown his full fighting weight, and staying down at 160 is just going to hurt his career. i give it one more fight at 160 before it's virtually impossible to stay at the middlweight limit.

i have no doubt in my mind that a move up to 168 will help his stamina. as it is, taylor fights in spurts which may end up as his demise versus winky. vargas tried the same thing but winky's agressive stance/style was able to nullify vargas' main assets: his power and body punching.

then again, winky has never fought a physical specimen like taylor who is an incredible athlete and a good boxer who uses the fundamentals. it's an interesting fight, isn't it?

One thing alot of people don't know about the Williams case is one of the other guys who was busted with him was Marshall Martinez. He made the Olympic team the year Williams made it. But pulled out, before he was kicked out. He was 7-0-1, with 5 ko's as a pro when got popped.

you may abe right, about taylor needing a jump in weight and yeah it can only help him.

as for the taylor v. winky, no way does winky win. i don't like winky, he talks to much ****, well at least he did in the past and even ducked ouma, but i see taylor beating winky. interesting fight, yes. but taylor will win this fight.

yes, i agree. i don't see a 5'8'' natural 175 lber who comes into fights around 175 hanging with a genetic 6'1'' 175 lb freak in taylor.

lol, i can honestly see taylor ko winky, it'll be an intereseting fight.

some people at work are even talking about this fight, of course for some reason they belive winky will win. i think after winky beat trinidad his name has just blown up, i hear hes in music videos. im still waiting to see if one of them ask me if i will accept a money bet, that how confident iam in taylor to win. im not saying hes goig to run over him right away but i just can't see winky beating taylor.

i am also very confident in a taylor win but there's something about winky's career that may lead him to figure out taylor pretty early into the fight. he's got bags and bags of experience fighting all over the world. he's a consumate professional and an overall good guy. one of the good guy's of the sport boxing has lacked over the years.

yes true, but winky also brought all that experiance in with the young FERNANDO VARGAS and still got beat, no matter how close the fight was, vargas still beat the very experiance winky. its not like boxing doesn't have other good guys in boxing, taylor is a family man and he is a warriror, he can represent boxing, he already beat hopkins so so he already has a good track record with fighting top fights and now fighting winky when some say its too tough a fight. taylor by decision if not by tko/ko.
