If it's a great fight and there's demand for a rematch then why not?

    Do it again in September.

Golovkin can wait some more and get a little older. Maybe by then he will be more reasonable about his financial worth.

He does want the fight but really is being greedy he thinks he should be on more not sure why.

Please dont say he is the Champion!

why should canelo wait for ggg to make up his mind if there are other lucrative options available?? if canelo beats chavez convincingly ggg needs to act fast and secure the fight ASAP, maybe even before the ppv numbers from the chavez fight show up...
THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE DUMBEST THINGS I HAVE EVER HEARD.

Im actually surprised that Isaac didnt say it.

I can't believe there's people who think GB would lock themselves into a Canelo/GGG fight for Sept '17, if they can get away with a safer and potential as lucrative rematch with Chavez.

GB's in the driver's seat, even if GGG agreed to the current offer, GB's not going to commit themselves to that fight if the Chavez rematch is viable.

Personally I want the delay for a GGG/Canelo fight. After Jacobs & Saunders, lets see GGG fight Khurtsidze in September and the Charlo/Johnson winner in December (assuming the IBF orders it).

The only thing I got out of this is, Canelo has many options. He literally has options for his next 4 fights, GBP are basically using that to force GGG teams hands.

Idk, I think GGG's the one with more options. He'll have all the belts at MW, and potentially could still have lucrative fights at SMW with DeGale and Rameriz. GGG will have two mandatories due after BJS in June with the IBF & WBO. And there's always Chris Eubank for next year.

Canelo has a lot of overhead due to his high purse and he's moved as carefully as possible. Outside of a Chavez rematch I don't see many likely options for Canelo. Lemieux might be seen as too high risk and too low reward for Oscar's taste. A Cotto rematch is very expensive and might not sell as well as the first fight. I don't think his fans would support bringing up another WW like Bradley.

Canelo has more options, GGG isn't moving up and even if he does he wants more money, Canelo can fight anyone from 154 to 168 and they would make more fighting him.

Cotto, Chavez, BJS and anyone who doesn't mind getting in the ring with him from Charlo to Andrade etc

Canelo doesn't have many great options left after Chavez jr if you look at it from a competitive point of view. The Chavez fight won't be a contest and so the rematch will depend on the buys generated. Fighting Cotto at this point is also no longer a serious contest as he is not the same as he once was and is coming off a long period of inactivity.

Whilst GGG and Canelo seek to gain leverage for their potential mega fight, there is only one guy cleaning out his division whilst the other is picking off easy prey and fighting the biggest names among that group.

I highly doubt that Canelo will fight any big hitters before he faces Golovkin, guys like Jacobs, Charlo, Zurdo and maybe even Lemieux will be avoided to prevent any risk of him losing.

Canelo is a good fighter but he needs to be fighting in competitive fights. He has no belt and because of his popularity can get almost any fighter at almost any weight he asks for so his excuses for not taking on serious challenges are upon him (or his promoters).

Whether you like Canelo or not you should want to see him fight in the best fights possible yet this won't be happening as he or his promoters have obviously noticed how the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout was built up and this Canelo-Golovkin saga is developing in just the same way.

I agree that Golovkin's list of opponents beaten so far is not impressive but the way he has dealt with them deserves respect and he is now facing his biggest test and legitimate #2 middleweight. If Canelo really wants the Golovkin fight, the least he should do is fight the Lemieux-Stevens winner for a solid middleweight test.

In my opinion, I think another money fight will be taken in September and I wouldn't be surprised if the other fighter was Eubank jr, a fighter whose reputation and name is far bigger than his ability in my opinion.
