He'll have to outwork Winky & hope that his size, strength, & power can push Winky back.

He will not beat Winky with boxing skills or with his left jab.

I heard Emmanuel Steward say that the way Taylor is going to win is by making Winky be the agressor and take him out of his element but I really don't get this because that would be putting his fighter out of his element. No matter how hard they train in the weeks leading up to this fight, Taylor will always be accustomed to fighting while pressing forward and if he does indeed apply this gameplan then he will have to figure out how to avoid the jab of Winky and het off shots of his own. I don't know I just think the whole plan doesn't make much sense. It's not like Winky is an all defensive fighter, he has a great jab and his straight left isn't something to be taken for granted. If he does do that then I expect a very ugly yet lopsided win for Winky. That would be bad imo.

I think that the one way to penetrate Winky's defense is to shoot through the middle. I think that a fighter with a good straight 1,2 would give Winky trouble. I remember after the first Hopkins fight the thing the Taylor camp vowed to do was straighten up Taylor's straight right. It was very loopy in the first fight and that cost him a lot of oppurtunities at clean shots because his set up was perfect but the loopiness of his punches had a lot of punches just glancing Hopkins instead of connecting flush. Then he came into the second fight and had the same problems. For Taylor's sake I REALLY hope they are straessing straighting up his right hand because if he can open Winky's defense with his hooks and even his jab to some degree, then shoot up the middle with the right hand, then I would give him a good chance to win. So basically, I think he just has to spread the defense of Winky with lead hooks and jabs and then shoot through the middle with the right. That only works if he doesn't have that loopy right hand it's straight. As of now though, I don't see him doing much more then landing on anything other then Winky's gloves and arms.

        Your thoughts?

By best way for Taylor to win is to fire Manny Steward. He has already screwed up Harris, Klitschko and Cintron, and he will screw up Taylor if given a chance. Teaching young men to violate the principles of boxing is ridiculous and it is about time this senile old bugger went into retirement.

imo, wright's ring age is MUCH younger than his real one... I think switching up trainers will prove to be a costly mistake for Taylor, it's going to affect him mentally.. those saying wright is old must be crazy as i feel wright is at his prime best at the moment, he's shown NO signs of age or wear from the game since his defensive efforts keep him pretty well protected.. he's going to exploit the holes in Taylor and take the decision june 17th...

that's because he hasn't face anyone that can show his age. WInky is no Hop who fights actively every year, and dominates easily without getting tagged.

Jermain is real. He is the champion for a reason. Once Jermain realizes that Winky is easier to hit than Hop (because Winky isn't elusive), Jermain will try to knock him out to send a statement. And remember, Shane wobbled him when Winky let Shane hit him right on the chin on the 2nd fight. Winky even saw the punch coming and got hurt bad. AND, it came from a natural 147lbs fighter. Trust me, Jermain, a middleweight with power, will give him a whooping.

Are people forgetting Winky is a southpaw? His straight left is gonna land on Taylor consistantly with Taylors right hand always hovering low. Ask Hatton about slick southpaws , except this one is right handed with awesome defense. I hope the gamblers all jump on Taylor to boost Winkys line making him an underdog

YOU CANT ERASE YOUR TECHNICAL FLAWS IN A FEW WEEKS PEOPLE

Taylor gets picked apart in a one sided fight.. Not nearly as onesided as tito though

                Asian Sensation's keys to victory

                The Keys to Victory

For Taylor to win this fight, he must fight more intelligently and patiently. He needs to throw short punches from different angles. Winky Wright is almost impossible to beat when you stand directly in front of him, so giving Winky angles goes a long way. Taylor will also have to move exclusively to his left and throw his jab over Wright's jab, offsetting his rhythm. He must not make the mistake that Trinidad made when he moved to his right all night and was a sucker for Winky's jab all night long. Wright is very adept at blocking straight punches, so throwing his right hand with a sweeping arc to it will also be very effective.

Winky Wright needs to fight the fight that he is accustomed to in order to give himself the best chance to take the title from Taylor. Winky will need to use his jab religiously and set up combinations up top. When Wright is effective with the jab, he is able to back his opponent up. Taylor cannot fight going backwards, and it is imperitive that Wright make him fight in reverse. Wright also needs to work the body to try to take some of the steam out of Taylor's punches. Keeping the pressure on Taylor after he punches will wear him down gradually and leave openings for Winky to take advantage late in the fight.

Taylor is bigger and stronger than Wright or Hopkins. Taylor has a great jab which will serve him well, and he has enough power to hurt Winky.

I predict Taylor will win this fight. Youth, size, power, speed...Vargas did what he did, and Taylor can do it also.

taylor is bigger and stronger and has a better jab. he should play to his stregnths.
use his size, power and jab to disrupt winkys defense.
