Golovkin's only possible chance at any leverage would come with having all of the belts, and even that isn't all that much.

Alvarez is likely going to be able to make 154lbs for another year or so, and from them on, he can simply fight catchweight fights for the rest of his career, until the time comes to fight for a world title at 168 (if that move happens).

Any fighter north of 140lbs with a name is going to angle for the catchweight fight against the star versus taking a lesser payday to fight Golovkin for his trinkets.

probably true..... but yesterday at the Chavez presser, Canelo stated that he is moving to 160 after the Chavez fight, and he intends to remain there for the foreseeable future

Canelo also stated that he doesn't give a fk about Golovkin..... Canelo said that he would love that fight, but the offer is on the table..... Golovkin can either accept it, or look for another opponent.....

..... Canelo then stated that he will continue to look for the biggest fights possible, with or without Golovkin

Team Golovkin are utter fools for overplaying their hand

they are bluffing Canelo with a pair of 4's

"Look, Golovkin did an interview in the LA Times and he said we we're going to make a 'bull**** offer' for like $2 million or something like that. I can tell you this much - the offer is going to be more than that and we'll see who's the clown, whether they accept it or not," said Eric Gomez -

I guess that means no Cotto fight, which is good

and I guess that means Canelo/Saunders will likely be next

          Yep, he was. Thanks Icha.

          My bad Scipio.

          Apologies.

          And I agree.

Lil g without Canelo (and a victory that could propel him into mega-stardom) has a hard row to hoe indeed.

He would have to move up to 168 just to get decent paydays with a DeGale, Groves or Eubanks.

I don't think "lil g" needs candelita at all but rather the opposite is true. The diva needs a "lil g" win for legitimacy purposes. She has made a career of beating up on smaller opposition and now she and her coked out pimp think that a Chavez win will give them the that legitiamcy so they can avoid going through "lil g" to obtain it, even though they have talked all this schit and promised a September fight.

Everyone can see through that lame attempt but I can't really blame ODLH for trying as all that coke abuse has slowed his mind down quite a bit and he doesn't realize what he is doing until it's too late.

            you can't be serious ?

Canelo is 26, and already has a much better resume than GGG

with or without GGG, Canelo will continue to make big fights

Golovkin needed Ward for legitimacy purposes, and he needed Canelo for a payday..... now, he needs Canelo for both.

They thought $2,000,000 was going to be the offered and instead got offered 7.5 TIMES more than that!!! And they want more??? When does it end??? They have to put their foot down somewhere? This rate their going to want 40%, then 60, then 80%, etc.

$15,000,000 for a fight BOTH GGG and Abel said would be EASY. Sound BEYOND fair and NO ONE else is getting that much for having 1 PPV fight under their belt??? What's really going to hurt is if Jacobs/GGG tanks and Canchavez does close to 1 million buys???

At least we all know Goldenboy can afford to give Saunders the extra $1-2 million he was asking for unlike tight @ss , piss poor K2. Fukers almost didn't even make the Jacobs fight over $500K-$1,000,000.

There is a sum of money large enough for Canelo and company to take that risk, but a fight with Golovkin might not generate that kind of money, so they wait for the risk to diminish or the purse to increase --- for GGG to get old or more people willing to pay to see the fight.
correct, that is a logical explanation. But try explaining that to the Canelo fan boys who swear up and down that the reason this fight hasn't happened is because ggg fears Canelo. It's mind boggling how some people can't see simple logic in what golden boy is doing. They want to drag this fight out for as long as possible while putting Canelo in lower risk fights with the hope that his fan base will look past the mismatches and support him blindly.

no offense, but..... typical tard logic

the bold is correct, if you change the name to Golovkin.....

that is proven by the fact that Golovkin could simply call Canelo's "bluff", and accept the 15mil..... right?

how badly has common-sense failed you, when you blame Canelo because Golovkin refused to fight him for an absolute FORTUNE?

even the most ardent Golovkin supporter, simply cannot blame Canelo, because Golovkin once again failed to get over the line
