This is pretty much what I was thinking when I first saw this thread. Haye hasn't been a relevant fighter since he retired after he was beat by Klistchko. He might be popular in Britain but he has to prove that he's still a top heavyweight. He lost a lot of momentum after Wlad beat him and after his temporary retirement.
Biggest fight in boxing (AJ vs Haye or Canelo vs GGG)

That's true, I think he'd have to knock out both Vlad and Wilder spectacularly and probably have a major fight over there before he began to have a similar sort of impact. Not impossible, but unlikely.Comment

Fury isn't a bigger draw than Haye.
Fury-Klitschko did 500k. Haye-Klitschko numbers weren't released but did well more than that, that fight was huge. Haye-Valuev did 800k.

Ggg vs Canelo.
Josh vs Haye does huge numbers in the UK but will be about a quarter of the price of a US PPVComment

Haye hasn't been relevant in years, and was hated even when he was relevant.
He might be a big local hero in the UK or something. I imagine he has been working the D-list celebrity reality TV circuit. Might pull a few views there.
In the world of boxing though his fights are essentially meaningless.Comment

You’re right, Haye has a huge following! Haye vs Vlad did 15 million views in Germany alone (Normal tv not PPV). HBO confirmed it did 3 million in the US (Ironically that’s more views than American boxer Wilder has ever got) I remember reports back then saying it got a total of 500 million views worldwide!
People that think Haye vs AJ should even be an candidate for biggest fight of the year just don’t realise how big Haye is worldwide.
