If that was a recent quote then RJ's recent fights have left him half ******. Most athlets are in their absolute prime around 27-28 yrs old and many peak at 22-24 yrs old.
I can't think why boxers*** should be way different although the exceptions make more noise than all those who fade at 30+.

I got GGG's absolute prime at about 30-31 years old when he ran through C++ Macklin like a knife through butter.

He is still close to his prime now but not his absolute prime based on last 2-3 performances. Course, if he grinds Jacobs down to an early or mid rounds stoppage I am rational and willing to revise.

*** part of pro boxing is that experience (because there is so much to learn) lags behind athletic prime. So a boxer's results can improve as experience gets them through while athletic ability is on the downslide.

    • "THE light-middleweight showdown between IBF champion Fernando Vargas and WBA boss Felix Trinidad was loaded with expectation. It took place on December 2, 2000 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas"

I don't see no WW in that story??? GGG fans do like to lie alot DOE!

GGG said it would be his dream fight ( suppose for the challenge AND the money) - but Floyd never showed any interest and everyone moved on - except for turkeys like you.
Don't be ridiculous. People most certainly were pressuring Floyd to move up to middleweight, claiming that SRL, Thomas Hearns, and Duran did it and therefore Floyd should do it too. Those three names were mentioned hundreds of times to support that stance, even by boxing pundits.

Also, let's not pretend that the first excuse coming out of all you nutthugger's mouths wouldn't have been the word 'weight drained' when GGG gets taken to school with ease.

You are probably right. However that was phrased, it was clear that GGG would go down to 154 for a Mayweather fight. It was when everyone wanted in on the action. I think even Bhop proposed a catchweight fight with Mayweather.

          • If boxing had more athletes and fighters of the caliber that GGG is, boxing would be in an amazing state and not dying due to unprofessional none fighters, weight bullies, corruption, favoritism, divas and duckers.

            • All the more reason why his flat out refusal to do 155 for Canelo or even try to negotiate a catchweight for one of the biggest fights that could be made is downright astonishing.

And, it is LIl g and his peeps that said he could move up to 168 LONG BEFORE any fans thought about it.

That was Loeffler and Co trying to fight Froch and Jr at 168 but dealing completely different with the best guy at the weight at that time.

Facts, let's stick to facts folks...

So you like to qualify your challenges to suit your agenda, is that correct because all you did was mention moving UP for challenges yet when I bring up floyd and a move down you think that shouldn't happen

Right on that point. I was referring to the time before Canelo beat Cotto for the belt. GGG's people, particularly Abel Sanchez, have been stalking Canelo for quite a while. Well, they now have a $15 million offer on the table. I hope negotiations continue for a September fight.

Preparing himself for weight cutting to actual 160 for the actual weigh in, you don't honestly believe he walks around at 165 all the way to the fight do you and just sheds 5 pounds the day before the weigh in ?

At the time the Ward fight was offered it was reasonable. Nobody was asking GGG to campaign at 168, it was just for one fight because the middleweight division was horrible. Jacobs next month, BJS this summer. Jermall Charlo has moved up. Andrade may be moving up in a year or two. I don't think the Canelo fight is happening. If Chavez Jr wins or it's remotely close they're running that back in Sept.
