Comments Thread For: Thurman: Garcia Never Fought a True Welter, I Will Hurt Him!

Keith Thurman has taunted Danny Garcia ahead of their much anticipated WBC and WBA world title unification showdown on March 4th insisting: "You ain't fought a real welterweight!" Garcia embarks on his second year in the 147 lbs division with Thurman undoubtedly his toughest test up at the weight during this time frame.

I would agree if Thurman was a guy that imposed himself on his opponents physically, but as it stands he's just a bigger guy with very good power. I think the Guerrero and Peterson fights were more physically demanding than anything Thurman will do. I think he says true Welterweight to give himself confidence. As it stands Pacquiao and Mayweather ruled the division for a decade without being true Welterweights.

I was kind ofr shocked how the much, much smaller Guerrero was the more aggressor than Thurman. Thurman was fighting backwards almost the entire fight? It was kind of funny to watch the small guy walking thurman down. Dumb game plan IMO and the reason why he got his @ss handed to him.

I wouldn't say that he got his @ss handed to him,but I will say that I agree that he looked ridiculous and that's probably one of the reasons that he was hospitalized by a guy 15 lbs lighter than him.

Yeah, not the headbutt that caused the huge hematoma.

You guys are a bunch of idiots.

Hard to argue with perfect records for both Thur and Danny boy

The weak jaw of Amir Khan made Danny's career and also great match making made danny be in safe fights. Thur also has been matched well. Spence-Brook-Paq-Destroy these two fringe fighters. Crawford also with a few pounds. Angel Crazy lunatic Garcia has actually helped Danny in the ring. Thurman has an average corner. But the no losses speak volumes on a fighters career.

As I stated in previous threads I am not rooting for any particular fighter but rather just a great fight overall as this is the best scrap of 2017 but I can't help but feel Thurman is underestimating Garcia in this one.
