Does that makes sense to you ?Last edited by Superbee; 02-17-2017, 07:02 PM.

Smith's story is great, but it's still the fight business; Alvarez-Bute is for the mandatory position (75/25 on a possible purse bid, one straight-up fight, no owed obligations), so it isn't a good look for DeGuardia to simply call for those terms being the same for Joe Smith Jr.

well, muchel is lying about some stuff. smith WASTED a guy who went the distance with stevenson and knocked him down, a guy very likely
to win a rematch at that. he also brutally KOd a guy who went the distance with the real 175 champ, so thats that.
smith is WBC #3 so a mandatory some time soon is possible. prolly his only option.

Seems a few years back there were some fights in Canada involving Pascal, Bute, Lemieux, Stevenson that drew good crowds but now the market for boxing there isn't as strong. Did the locals all go back to watching ice hockey instead?

Adonis Stevenson has no fanbase at all... Even here in Montreal, people don't like him. He'll never be at the level of Pascal or even Bute in terms of popularity despite arguably being more successful than them.
So Michel acting like his guy is this superstar is also a little bit deluded. He's turning 40 this year, hasn't faced a relevant opponent in years, can't even sell out the Bell Centre and really can't escape his criminal past which is often cited. He'll hold onto that WBC belt until he gets exposed, which could happen soon.
