As I said, Arum decides who the A-side is because it's his money. At the moment Loma's guarantee is higher than his drawing ability because Arum views him as an investment. Walters doesn't have the talent or pedigree that Loma does so he's seen as less of an investment and therefore only commands purses more proportionate to his drawing power. Ask yourself this, would Walters ever turn down $500k to face anyone else?

I'm obviously not privy to the actual numbers but from what Arum and Sean Gibbons have said it sounds like Salido would be paid more for the Lomachenko rematch than he was for the first fight, which sounds fair to me. My guess is that it would be somewhere between the $250k he got last time and the $425k they paid Roman Martinez, which is an amount Siri would never get anywhere else

He has problems getting opponents because they all want ridiculous sums of money to face him, probably because they know they'll likely lose

Mikey-Loma won't happen any time soon because Mikey won't fight on a Top Rank card and Arum won't let Loma fight on anyone else's cards. It sucks but you can't really blame any of the parties involved

On the contrary, he got shelved in order to force him to face Loma. If he hadn't tried to price himself out the fight could've happened sooner

I can't believe you're still persisting with this **** now that we've seen just how little Walters wanted the fight from the way he quit like a ***** in there. He clearly never had any confidence in his ability to beat Loma

lomachenko is the truth.its a terrible look for boxing when the other "champions" don't have the confidence in themselves to face a guy like lomachenko some thing with golovkin. boxing really needs one authority figure who can come in and enforce rules or make fighters fight each other basically do what bob arum did to walters either you fight or you sit on the shelf.

You're only worth as much as someone's willing to pay you. It's that simple. Walters was offered an excellent purse of $500k and decided his 0 was worth more than that and turned it down, then Arum slapped him back down to reality and he ended up with $300k. Walters is the dumbest businessman I've seen in a while and there is some stiff competition for that status in this sport

He's a bum and people already want to match him against 135 and 140 pound fighters.
They should match up a real talent like Gervonta Davis against those guys. Davis would murder anyone at 135 and 140. He's the real deal not this bum Lomachenko.
Lomachenko and Rigo fear LSC and Frampton.
You must be a troll. Either that or you really dont understand the sweet science. Davis better than Loma? Loma would smoke him. You need a new sport. Try some tennis, might be easier for you to understand it.
Lomachenko is an excelent prodigy, amazing skills, really understands the sweet science.
And your name is Hi Tech just like Loma´s nickname.

Arum says they met Salido's purse demands, Salido's manager agrees that they had good talks but says Salido would rather face Vargas than Lomachenko anyway and implies that it's because Lomachenko is the tougher fight ("Orlando voiced to me, 'Hey, why do I want to fight a guy in Lomachenko who I know is going to run, grab and hold...?'"). Bear in mind that Salido only got $50k for the first Vargas fight, five times less than he got against Loma, and he would almost certainly get more against Loma this time than the last (probably around the same as what Roman Martinez got, ~$400k)
C'mon man, that's Arum saying that he met Salido's purse demand. I don't believe a damn thing that old punk mother****er says! His manager never confirmed that the purse demand was met. He did admit that Salido prefers to fight Vargas over lomanchenko but nothing wrong with that. Fighters do that all the time. They choose some opponents over others for whatever reason.
But show me a link from an independent writer with knowledge of the negotiations where salido turned the fight down after his purse demand was met. Then I'll believe it. You can't believe nothing Arum says!
Another thing, people keep saying Salido took 50K to fight Vargas. Where did that come from??
Hope you don't say Arum again, how would he know? He wasn't even involved with that fight

He is the #1 Loma fan on NSB. he is just having a hissy fit today and is playing the victim.

Pay no attention to him today.

I know all about Arum's flexibility when it comes to the truth but the real story here is between the lines of what Sean Gibbons had to say. They had issues with the money being offered back in the summer, but by the winter they had found a new reason to sidestep the fight

I got the $50k figure from the CSAC via Dan Rafael

Anyway I still have some faith in the fight happening this year now that Vargas is out and Berchelt and Miura are tied up with each other. Siri doesn't have many options any more
