  • anyone else think jacobs is being underrestimated?

The pirog loss was a long time ago, and jacobs has learnt from this and matured as a fighter, defeating well respected middleweights in sergio mora and peter quillin. I think he is a legitimate threat in this fight, and talk of golovkin fighting canelo is premature, cause hes arguably fighting a more dangerous opponent here. I think this could be a real 50/50 fight, two explosive power punchers slugging it out, no chin is indestructable; if jacobs lands a big shot he could win this.. Think this could be a real fight of the year contender and it could be a hagler hearns type fight... Dont count jacobs out from shocking the world.

No mate he was the 16th coming of Mike Tyson. Same neighbourhood and all that. Overestimated not under.

jacobs is a good fighter, its not that he cant fight. its that he cant take a punch and thats one flaw you dont want to bring into a ggg fight.

technically he is solid and his power is legit, its not impossible at all that he catches ggg early like he did quillin. but if he doesnt get him out of there quick, he will be put out himself. he isnt really a boxer, he is a puncher with some skills. he cant box for 12 rounds and he cant take a punch, against ggg thats problematic.

but he does have a real punchers chance, he is still the toughest test ggg has ever faced.

Damn dude, how many of the same threads are you gonna make? You're not Hectari, people want to see this fight. Let it play out how it plays out. You aren't changing the betting odds or anyone's minds on here.

Yes. Because boxing fans think once someone loses their "0" they are garbage.

I do think Jacobs has improved since the loss. While I think GGG is a much better fighter -- at least a 2 to 1 favorite, Jacobs is dangerous. He has good power. From what Ive seen GGG has a good chin, so that mitigates the danger a bit.

Jacobs is an OK boxer -- not great. He's so big, he should try to fight more rangier (esp against a dude like GGG, who you do not want to get into his wheelhouse), but I havent seen him control distance in that manner.

But I would favor Jacobs over all other MWs except GGG and maybe Canelo

So it should be an interesting fight - a fight worthy of deciding THE CHAMP at MW.

I like and respect Jacobs. If he is being underestimated it is because of Pirog. Whether that was a fluke or not will be tested against GGG. I just want a great fight! I suspect GGG will do his thing and work to a late stoppage of Jacobs.

Yea... same exact fkin thread. He's either feeling pressured about GGG losing or trying to hype up Jacobs as something he really isn't. That way he can claim GGG is #1 P4P... somehow...

                  Yes he is being underrated

He should be the underdog but not a huge one. He can crack with both hands, has explosive hand speed and if ggg blocks with his face it could be dangerous for golovkin

How many times is the same thread going to be made?

No, he isn't being underestimated. He is being over rated by GGG fans who hate the (very fair) criticism of the lack of quality fighters on his resume.

Danny is a level below GGG IMO, 2 levels below for many other posters. As such, GGG is the heavy favorite going in.

If he wins, he will get credit from me. if he loses, Jacobs gets credit. I am looking forward to a great fight.

I hope Jacobs pulls the upset.
