Spence's chin and recovery time is questionable at worst. Here's why.

spence had been a pro for nine or 10 months. that was probably the first big shot he'd ever taken with a pro glove.

bradley had been a pro for more than 9 years when he foought provodnikov. had the experience of being in with manny f#cking pacquiao. peterson, alexander, holt [huge puncher who dropped bradley fiercely,] and many other solid fighters.

again, that was less than a year into spence's pro career. this thread is a reach.

and finally, your ability to recover is not entirely genetic, and neither is your chin. experience, conditioning, pacing, how you make weight, will all play a factor in how well your legs do down the stretch.

Other fighters and commentators have said the same. He also seemed to panic slightly when Bundu tagged him. Paulie Malignaggi literally said this in an interview yesterday or something.

If you have Kell Brook in front of you and your chin is a little suspect, maybe your defense isn't the best -He better hope he knocks Brook out quick otherwise it's curtains.

And spence has a tendency to leave himself open too long when he opens up for a body attack or just attacks in general.
Nope Brook hates it to the body just like any fighter, he tried to keep a poker face against GGG but he was hurting like hell. If you look at him properly when he got dig to the body you can tell when he was feeling the hurt, this is why I said his corner saved his career. He dropped his hands to protect his body, he was trying to ride the punches, he was going to the roles... all the signs he wanted out of there, and I don't blame him. Taking on the hardest puncher at 160 is a whole lot different to taking punches from Shawn Porter or Jo Jo Dan.

on what planet does spence not have good defense? he's hardly ever hit, especially for a guy who is offensive and has knockout power. he's 27 and you're all wondering if he's got a crap chin .

brook will get a chance to find out how spence's chin is. i'm looking forward to it. are you? is brook?

He gets tagged quite frequently and he freezes a bit when he does. I think his defense is leaky.

I'm not saying he has a crap chin, but its suspect until I've seen him pass a somewhat decent crack without panicking or going down. I haven't seen that yet.

Hell yeah I am. It's a good fight. I don't think Spence has deserved the massive hype yet - but he's good. Favour Brook to win by KO.

If his chin and recovery ability is "questionable at worse" than that isn't bad if you think about it.

so he gets tagged quite frequently, yet TS has to go to a fight nine months into his career to see him wobble around?

and spence does not have "massive hype." he just doesn't. people in boxing think he's the most talented young american fighter, which is appropriate. that's because he is. nobody says he's more talented than lomachenko, for instance. nobody. find me one pundit and show me the "hype" disprportionate to his talent. he is what he is, and he's "hyped" that way.

he has one big TV rated fight, and that was mostly a product of him fighting after a very popular TV spot on a TV network you can access for free if you get a voucher from the government or [have any cable package at all]. is that the hype you're talking about? point out the hype. it should be easy. i don't expect you to be able to do it, because it is not there. i live here fFFS

you not being rational, and it sounds like it's out of fear. so the question we have to ask is, what are you afraid of?

Just because he gets tagged doesn't mean he stumbles around often. When I say he gets tagged, thats a leaky defense. Not chin. Weird strawman.

He has massive hype on this forum. No idea what goes on in your TV.

Where exactly am I not being rational? I'm literally watching his fights right now. It confirms what I said - Great offense in many ways. Good jab and left. Don't think it's better than Brooks and also don't think he's as quick as Brook.

Brook's defense is definitely better right now, but he's also a 37 fight veteran in the pros.

I don't know why you say I'm afraid. I said it's a good fight but favouring Brook to win? Why does that make afraid.

                  That's just sad dude.

                    • Anyone can be hurt though. As people pointed out, Senchenko wobbled Brook even worse than GGG did. That being said, it's well known Brook was literally just boiling down to make weight and didn't even have a proper S&C coach back then to do it properly which might be part of the reason. But the point still stands, you can catch anybody right and wobble them. Paulie Malignaggi had Diaz on ***** street for a moment in their second fight.
