The only thing I can think of is that both Brook and Jones fought at a heavier weight in the fight before.

Yes it does! and i have alluded to this comparison in another post. This is some really bad promoting by Eddie Hearn! Kell Brook should be campaigning at 154........

He holds a WW WT and the fighter knows his body better than the promoter, if he makes 147 fine and he obviously feels he can then its advantage because he is a big strong WW.

He does not make welter-weight fine! he has already stated this in the entire build up to the Golovkin fight! this is bad promoting from Eddie Hearn, because if he loses again! especially to a mere no mark in the marketing world of boxing, this effects Brooks entire career! The only reason why Brook is back at 147, is because he thinks the bigger more lucrative fights are at this class! (Not because its his strongest and healthiest weight!)....

This is very bad promoting from Eddie Hearn, you need a good promoter protect you from your own bravery sometimes!

Don't mix up fine and Hard Work, fine means it doesn't hurt him on fight night, hard work means he really works hard on watching his weight and bringing it down for the weigh-in.

He is a very strong WW, I see no indication that it is hurting him any way, it appears that Kell was sick of the hard work to make weight and was comfortable going up , its all about desire because if he makes WW without it hurting him its an advantage for him.

Jeff Lacy's record was 21-0 (17 KO) going into the Joe Calzaghe fight.
Earl Spence, Jr.'s record is 21-0 (18 KO) going into the Kell Brook fight.

Yeah but Calzaghe didnt move up to Cruiserweight prior to the Lacy fight.

Tim Bradley was also 21-0 when he beat Junior Witter. I see why the comparisons are made with Jones-Tarver (the move up in weight in previous fight) but I think this fight will be more Witter-Bradley than anything else.

Jones and tarver were the same age and had known each other well since amateurs. Tarver said he trained specifically to be able to match up w jones for years. There was very little respect in the build up. Tarver is significantly taller and rangier than jones, neither of these fighters has long reach advantage. Stylistically I see few comparisons
