Spence by KO. Brook folds up under pressure, the same kind of pressure that Spence gives all his opponents

Just looked it up Emile Griffith is 1966 is the last reigning welter champ to win a middleweight championship.

Fair enough for GGG to batter him Brook in the end but put in the context of history it's not great is it?
By saying Brook ain't SRL you must be assuming GGG is on the same level as Hagler!

No two match-ups in boxing are ever identical, either in the circumstances or the levels of the fighters involved. When comparing them there will always be some difference you can pick out and and play that good old "Yeah, but .." game.

it is more the historical context but I take your point.

It has happened once in professional boxing that a reigning welter has won a 160 pound title.

So in response to a post that said guys like Hopkin's made a career of bashing welterweights. That is not strictly true since those your ODLH and Trinidad had fights at both 154 and 160 before fighting Hopkins.

What GGG did was beat a career welterweight. GGG is very good but I am not comparing him to Hagler but more how special would a welterweight have to be to beat him in his first fight at 160. SRL good - is probably not a bad shout imo.

You're picking the favorite to win. Pretty ballsy move there

SRL had never fought at 160 before he faced Hagler, and it was also his comeback fight back after 2 years "retired" - no tune-ups.

Kell Brook has fought multiple times at SWW, many more times than SRL did before beating Hagler.

I think the Kazakh from the ams you're referring to is Serik Sapiyev, one of the greats of the modern era

As for Brook-Spence, I agree that Brook is the better boxer but if Spence can keep the pressure up for twelve rounds it could get very tough for Brook in the latter stages

Maybe Brook beats Spence in your dreams but not in real life. You are giving Brook credit for a 3rd round KO win over both Bundu and Algieri in your fantasy fights. Spence actually did KO both of them in real fights. Real wins are much better than imaginary wins.
