    isn't boxing called..............

Isn't boxing called the sweet science? "hit and not get hit"

so why when someone like ward or mayweather hit someone and they don't get countered, they call it running?

do you guys call it running because they do not fight YOUR fighter the way that YOU want them to?

its funny how all you douche bags act surprised when ward of mayweather fight like this, thats their style. you think ward was going to go out of his way and change his style for you ungrateful a$$holes and stand toe to toe with kovalev?? why would he change something that has never been broke? why would he change his whole style over night for you guys?

no one said sh-it like this about sweet pea or any other defensive fighter. why??? because there wasn't forums like this with sh-it heads like you who complain about everything back in the day.

no, boxing was first started as a way to settle any dispute one might have with another person.

all that other terms such as "hit and not get hit", "the sweet science", are just terms used to describe a move a boxer does in there. kinda like in basketball, you can cross a mofo over, etc.

People can like whatever style they want. However, for most people, someone who has a good offense and knows how to finish/ or at least tries to finish off an opponent is preferable to someone who plays it safe all of the time.

The examples you gave of Mayweather and Ward are exceptions. Both of those guys (who actually have completely different styles) are of the highest class of skill level and had a lot of money behind them since they started as pros. Most other professional boxers who employ those type of styles (in mayweather's case, only the second half of his career) will never get on tv and will never make a dime.

            I can explain this.

            1. Certain people hate Mayweather/Ward
            2. They want to see Mayweather/Ward lose
            3. The only way for Mayweather/Ward to lose is by them abondoning the skills and abilities that they've been training to master their entire lives.
            4. So these fans want Mayweather/Ward to abandon the skills and abilities that they've been trying to master for their entire lives so they can see them lose.

Like old ass Larry Merchant said "their is no room for perfection in boxing". Flaws and mistakes lead to exciting fights and knockouts .

there's nothing wrong with hitting someone and moving away. there's nothing wrong with making someone miss and moving away. there is something wrong with grabbing your opponent so he can't hit you in return, holding and hitting, ducking below the waist etc...since those things are illegal. only problem is some ward/floyd fans confuse these illegal tactics with legit boxing. they even say these things are skills or great defense and then when people point out how they aren't even legal they label them haters.
