Comments Thread For: Washington: Wilder Will Be 'Shocked, Humbled' February 25th

Deontay Wilder acknowledged again this week that he'll fight Gerald Washington in two weeks because he doesn't view Washington as an unusually dangerous opponent. Wilder hasn't fought since he had surgeries six months ago to repair injuries to his right hand and right biceps. The unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion admits he had to be conservative about choosing an opponent for testing those injuries.

      WAR WASHINGTON

Washington is going to put the best heavyweight performance since Wladimir Klitschko beat Samuel Peter back in 2005

Cherry pick gone wrong, Wilder had 2 major surgeries and likely won't punch with authority with his right hand till late!

Washington has a shot since he's likely dealing with Wilder who could be fighting at 65% or 70% due to the injuries!

Wilder should be ashamed of himself. He's a disgrace to the title.

Can Washington do it? Possible, not likely.

Tired of hearing the "test my injuries" bs for fighting another can..he's obviously been cleared by his doctors to train, spar, and fight. Never heard Tom Brady say he needed to face a "soft" defense to "test" his surgically repaired knee. Stop being such a little girl and whining about injuries!!!

I doubt Washington can do anymore damage than Wilder's last 3 opponents.

I disagree with the article. With 19 more fights wilder hasn't fought better opposition. Stevirne is the only good fighter wilder has fought. But he has 19 more fights so it should be enough experience to pull him through

Deontay could have found a better opponent to defend his title. Even if he defeats Washington (which he will), what would he achieve? Luis Ortiz was ready to step up but Mr Wilder hid behind the drug usage past.
