So you can lose your chance at a title because the sanctioning body isn't satisfied with the bid? Maybe part of the problem is requiring such large minimum bids when the fight is only for a secondary title. In the end it all comes down to money for these sanctioning bodies.

Lol ain't nobody gonna bid that much for this BS fight.

Lol no network is gonna pay even half of that for this fight - and that's how promoters recoup most of their money is from TV rights.

I can see the gate doing a few hundred thousand MAYBE..

And I can see a smaller network maybe offering a few hundred thousand for TV rights, just since Briggs is a former name in the sport, and his recent antics.

Who in their right mind would bid that for this fight? Unless you maybe had rights on also promoting the winner's next fight for the full title?

The only possible redeeming quality here is that Oquendo could potentially derail the Briggs circus campaign, which grew old a long time ago.

Who won that purse ? I wasn't aware it had even been ordered let alone won.

This is hilarious, two failed bids and Oquendo will lose a fight he challenged in court for and spent two years out waiting for, when absolutely nobody wanted to see his face ever again after said fight with Chagaev, both of them should have retired that night hell before that night !

Yet an element of boxing fans thought Wlad should face Briggs, now Wlad don't hold the belt Briggs undeserving of a shot ?
