What makes Cotto overrated, are expectations of greatness & his having been given so much exposure/cash. He is obviously excellent, just not a future great. He won't be "exposed" by a fighter on Malignancy's level.....

I just dont know what to make of Cotto just yet...

I have been back and forth on him...regardless of what you think of him as a fighter he is going to provide us with some serious fireworks in the ring, hell he already has....

Cotto will be a tough out for any 140-147 pounder in the world!

Paulie is a solid boxer. But I see Cotto stopping him in the mid rounds.

We wont get a clear understanding of Cotto's potential till he is put in against the Elites.....all he has proven now is that he deserves a shot against them. Paulie has not even proven that he deserves to be in with them.

I don't get the move either so maybe you're right about his hand problems being career threatening. I mean it just seems like to beat Cotto you gotta have the power to hurt him (Malignaggi does not) or be the purest of boxers, and I don't think Malignaggi is.

He definitely talks alot but maybe they feel like some of the guy's on here that Cotto is overrated. To be honest I think Cotto will win but not as easy as some say on here say, I did gain alot of respect for Cotto after seeing him get up off the canvas and winning. The only problem for Paulie in the 3 fight's I've seen of him is that I question his strength and pop in his punches.

I can honestly invision the fight going 2 ways.

Like everyone is saying, when Pauli gets hit with big shots every round, he may not have the experience to deal with that. I can see a case for him getting flustered in the ring, and as Scap said Cotto is one of the stronger ones in the Jr Welter or Welter division (whichever one this fight is being held at).

However, I really can see a possibility of Malignaggi frustrating Cotto. Cotto's chin has come under question, but this isnt really anything we should dawn on in June because he is up against a relatively feather fisted guy, with only 5 KO's if my memory doesnt fade me... I think Malignaggi has certain abilities and skills that could be extremely beneficial to him when he's in the ring with Cotto. It seems as if he has supreme confidence, and that goes a long way too.

Scap when I said he has skills I didnt just mean any old skills. Im talking real potential in the boxing world, in my personal opinion. People are talking about him getting hit. From what I can gather, he is difficult to find, if his past fights are anything to go buy.

Put it this way, if my house was on it, I will be betting on Cotto, but since it isnt, im going with Malignaggi just to make it fun like Scap said. Also the fight will be somewhere in between Lacy-Calzaghe and Hatton-Collazo, meaning that Pauli wont completely get blown out of there...

I may be wrong, but im just sensing something with this fight...

Cotto is an elite fighter, Malignaggi stands little chance.
