Fight fans need to wake up and smell the Malinaggi!

I have sat back and listen to loads of dummies speak of the prospects of Paulie Malinaggi pulling the upset over Mr. Miguel Cotto...Im hear to let you know that this is one gross mother****ing mismatch.

Paulie and Lou had a decision to make, they could start to gradually fight tougher competition (which they have not even remotely done)and risk being exposed (which would have happened eventually)or they could use Paulie's mouth/marketability and take the first big offer that came their way regardless if they were ready or not.

You think Paulie is ready? He has fought absolute ZEROS-now he is going from ZEROS to Miguel Cotto...what should this tell a seasoned fight fan?

    1) It tells me Paulie's hand problems are career threatening and they have got to cash in ASAP.
    2) It tells me Paulie's handlers must not believe their kid is the goods-if he was the goods you would not see the kind of monumental jump in class.

Could a high school football team beat a college football team, sure I guess there is always a chance but how could anyone with a right mind actually predict it....they would be a ****head who is simply taking a huge stab in the dark...dont be a ****head on june 10-its a no brainer!

exactly the people who DO pick paul are simply takeing a shot in the dark in the very very dire hopes that they can be the ones to say "see hahaha told you he was a bum" well yeah but havent most of cottos detractors been saying hes gonna lose since before he fault bailey?
you cant bet against the guy every time then snag the credit when he finaly DOES lose thats not how it works

Hey, in the end its all about making the most money that you can with what god has given you, thats what malig is doing. Cashing in. I agree that Malig is more show then world clas fight, but he does have some very good skills. I just dont think that he is slick enough nor strong enough for the divisions elite.

He looks like a ***, but he can box from what ive seen. If his reflexes are nice along with the rest of it, and he brings his A game, I would give him a chance against Cotto... Who has Cotto fought anyway?

Cotto is favourite, but I will happily bet on Malignaggi even though he is unknown. I guess I have a bit more faith in underdogs in general though.

LOL, ok so how much do you want to bet on this underdog who is going against the Cotto that has beaten no one?

            You name the amount.

Im betting in VBookie, not with other members. Have you seen Malignaggi, the boy has skills. Defense and offence. He is one of those fighters who seems to have tried to get everything down to the best he can. Footwork, balance, technique, guard everything. He has perfected his own style. If he gets the gameplan right he has the boxing ability to embaress Cotto. Cotto has power but so did Lacy. Boxers beat punchers from my experience... But they have to be good, and Malignaggi is good. Having said that, he looks like a f4g.

I agree that Malig has skills and defense and all, but can he get down and thrown when he has too? When he's in a ***** of a fight and hes eating hard shots all night what is going to show. It wont be his smile that is covered in blood, it will be his natural toughness that will show. Either he folds or he fights!!!

Cotto is overrated. But, he is still a far better fighter than Malignancy is.
What makes Cotto overrated, are expectations of greatness & his having been given so much exposure/cash. He is obviously excellent, just not a future great. He won't be "exposed" by a fighter on Malignancy's level.....

All fighters have skills but skills against who? Paulie is going from fighting C level comp and that is stating it generously to an A level opponent...sure Paulie has skills against fighters who are 11-5-2 but what kind of skills will he have when he faces the strongest junior welterweight in the world?

If fight odds are 10-1 and you wanna lay down a hundy on Paulie I have no problems with that-it makes for a fun night but for anyone to sit around and say that Paulie has a real shot because of this or that is just plain crazy...nothing in Paulie's short career suggest he has a shot, nothing.
