    Good take,
    Tyson was being led down the wrong path by Don King and Robin...;

    so not ready for the task that Buster brought.

      Tyson had degenerated by the time of that fight, though. Was engaging in too much extracurricular activity and had gotten rid of Kevin Rooney who was the last link to the Cus D'Amato training routines that made him great.

      And even then Mike still almost won the fight.
      Buster was a excellent talent.

      Too bad he fell in love with the Buffet at the Mirage.

      Tyson had fallen hard for Robin and the Bolivian Marching Powder!

        Wlad would easily beat Tyson, 71' reach 5'10 will be easy to use the 1-2-3 combo's all night long

          Ironic but the writing was on the wall, but we didn't see it. Previous to the fight many of us seen in the paper that Greg Page floored Tyson in a sparing session. All the drama involving Givens, King and his training/management team. It was there to see.

          Never the less most of us expected the normal Tyson demolition. As the night unfolded we were shocked as Tyson's invincibility was broken down piece by piece.

          My kids watched the fight with me as history unfolded. As the night ended I put them to bed as they cried "I hate Buster Douglas". I knew it was how the game went but in their youth the seen it as superman being defeated by the bad guy.

          Thanks for the trip down memory row.
