Could GGG win a title at 175?
Collapse

...he a small middleweight doe
Seriously he'd get abused there....not enough defense to deal with bigger guys....punchers don't do well moving up @ 160-175....most who were successful were boxer types...Jones, eubank, Nunn, McCallum, toney, Leonard, hearns(he had power but he was a boxer first and foremost)..... GGG would get stopped by stevenson, kov, even ward, who mugs you would like stop him late....bad move. 168 is probably itComment

Maybe by picking off a weak titlest at some point...but not against the best right now. Anything can happen, but i doubt it.Comment

Golovkin's optimal performance window is at 160-168 maybe! In my opinion if he ventures past these weight divisions, his advantages over his opponents such as? punching power, and his seemingly (invulnerability) to their offensive attacks will greatly diminish!
If you analyse boxing history, its only really "Slickness" which enables fighters to move up through the weight divisions successfully! (A certain kind of slickness, which seems to be mostly embodied in his realm of reality...........by mostly? Black Fighters! like Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Junior etc).
Yes! fighters like Manny Pacquiao have moved up through the weight divisions! but the main variable effecting his success was not his skills or technical ability. He was relying on his "bionic power", which mysteriously appeared during his world title fight up against Oscar De La Hoya! and then that very same "bionic power" disappeared after a that great run of fights ending with Joshua Clottey!
So taking this information into consideration......
If Golovkin is to move up in weight class, he will have to increase his punching power! because he does not possessed that (Black Slickness!).........the same kind of slickness, that basically ended Kelly Pavlik's career! Golovkin as a fighter has never shown any outward signs of possessing this kind of slickness....
Note: Black Slickness can be embodied by any fighter, from any cultural background! (But the reason why i call it black slickness, is because it seems to be a natural genetic trait! mostly within black fighters throughout history!)...

Golovkin's response time is too slow. As Bradley said, '' he knows how to position himself well for shots...'' That's why he and Abel, all they ever do is practice power hitting and accuracy over and over. Gennady could do that with any coach, it's Abel who is limited with Ring IQ. Gennady's timing is only effective when he has guys running towards the ropes as he'll usually fake from the top but attack on the body. Reflex wise and speed, that's too slow for 168-175. 168 is most likely his capacity. Two more years, if Zurdo's metabolism still doesn'T slow down, then he's still a very young and skillful Southpaw. Don'T see Gennady beating him, and any version of Zurdo is better than the way Ishida. I say that because of height. And the Gennady camp don't like elite Southpaws.
If none of what I say convinces yall, then imagine Gennady's speed at this weight....

I doubt he could beat Ward or Kovalev. They are natural 175 pounders now. Ward said he can't make 168 anymore. GGG is 35 and a smaller middleweight so beating these two excellent light heavyweights is a tall order for him. Stevenson is a hell of a puncher with a weak chin. I think GGG can get his big punches in first and KO Stevenson. I am sure he could KO DeGale or Eubank at 168.Comment
