The hate for Ward is ridiculous. First he was hated and being labeled a coward for not moving up and facing Kovalev. Now after already facing and beating Kovalev. Now his being hated and being a coward for not giving Kovalev a rematch. Like Ive said before. The Kovalev fanboys are really not going to stop crying until Ward gives Kovalev a win.

It's interesting that we are living in a time were fighters like Floyd and Ward are being called cowards by some for not fighting guys they already beat

I find it funny how fan boys call out cowards who beat their guy. These pansy fanboys want these fighters to continue rematching them until their fighter wins. All the continuing crying makes Ward win even more enjoyable. First they were gloating how Ward would never step up to Kovalev's weight class, and now they are crying cause Ward is carroting the rematch from the cry babies who said Ward would never step up.

What? Are you telling me, as a true boxing fan, you DON'T think there should be a rematch?

This is the epitome of a case where a rematch should be had.. The fight was back and forth, and while most people think Kovalev won, some people make an argument that judges got it right. Either way, you literally can't get any closer than that.


Also - why would you sign a contract that had a rematch clause, if you didn't intent to honor it?

Ward will get paid more than Kovalev just like he did in the first fight.

You telling me you don't think there should be an immediate rematch in a fight that was literally decided by ONE POINT on all three cards? And where that fighter was put on his arse, and for the first time in his career, arguably lost a fight?


Most great boxers would be frothing at the mouth to prove they are better, and would be eager to once again make several million dollars to prove why they are the best.


And all real boxing fans should be demanding a rematch. When in the history of boxing, was there a fight that was as close and controversial as this, where there wasn't a rematch?

Overtime Floyd had a fight that was razor thin, and people believe he lost, what did he do? HE REMATCHED THEM IMMEDIATELY!


In the first fight against JLC, where as a Floyd fan, I do believe JLC won the fight - what did Floyd do? Within like 8 months he was in the ring with him again, and this time, proved his mettle, and clearly won the fight.


What did Floyd do after the first Maidana fight? That fight wasn't controversial at all, IMO - Floyd clearly won a CLOSE, but clear decision... Still, what did Floyd do to shut everybody up? IMMEDIATE REMATCH within like 5-8 months.


What does Ward do when he had his first taste of adversity, and lost? "I'm retiring... I have options..." No, Andre, you don't. You have an obligatory rematch. You can retire like a *****, or rematch Kovalev like you agreed to do already.

I never said I wouldn't mind watching it again. I just wouldn't lose sleep over it not happening because what I saw was enough to show me Ward was clearly the superior fighter. The majority complaining (crying) are the ones who are simply sour graping their guy lost and can't let go until their guy wins wither the second or on the third fight.

To this day, regarding Floyd, his still is being called a coward. Some people just get their feelings hurt when their guy gets beat. People still talk about Floyd losing to Castillo and being a coward overlooking the fact that Floyd rematched him and beat him, yet still people only talk about the first Castillo fight. Hardly anyone talks about the rematch.

nobody here knows whats goin on with ward but what we ALL know is this...ward was chased by the champion for the first fight really and that is not how it happens.
second, ward in the eyes of pretty much everyone lost that fight, there are people who refuse to accept it but it goes on his card as a win.
third and most important of all and i think you miss this point....
HE (WARD) SIGNED A CONTRACT THAT SPECIFICALLY HAS AN IMMEDIATE REMATCH CLAUSE THAT WARDS MANAGEMENT HAS SO FAR IGNORED.
what do you think could be the reason for that?
we will speculate....hes a chicken,scared to fight,avoiding kovalev, wants to be a champ until the courts take his(kovalevs) belts? oh almost forgot, hes gonna retire after a "long and distinguised career" lol

summary: ward is way over rated and doesnt shine against elite level. he is a talent but proved by kovalev that he still has a way to go with that.
