All's Khan did was try and find the best excuse he could possibly latch on to , to run...again and against a champion 70% would always do the trick.

I agree. Khan is hella' dumb. But his advisors (Vali and in particular that new White guy) are not.

They lured Kell/Eddie into negotiations despite knowing full well that they were always going to take a tune-up in April. The 70-30 split is irrelevant for now, because the fight isn't even taking place. Eddie was so desperate for this fight for Brook (as it served as far more lucrative and EASY alternative to Spence), that he himself even wanted Kell and his dad to accept the fixed-figure offer.

But unfortunately, the mere move of going into talks with Khan at 147 (only for Khan to reject), put them in a position where they HAD to confront the Spence issue. There's a reason why Khan would come out with quotes like "I can never respect a champion that hands over his belt" and "I need to test my hand, Kell in the meantime can get his mandatory out of the way". They just want to put Kell through the meat-grinder against tough opposition, and make him stay at the weight for longer.

I ain't surprised. This is the best way to generate money for this fight. Brook is a big draw in Sheffield and he will probably sell out close to the 32,000 capacity.

Trying to sell this as a PPV in May will be quite tough because in the uk we already have Haye-Bellew in March and AJ-Klitschko in April so a ppv in the 3rd back to back month might be a tough sell so generating more money from stadium ticket makes sense instead of Sheffield arena where the capacity is like 13k.

One thing I will say though being from the UK and the crazy atmospheres our boxing events have is that if Spence goes there and wins clearly then he is definitely the truth because it won't be easy.

Brook will sell ALL 32,000 and more and many people realise their PPV money will be well spent .This is NOT a 100/1 on Eubank mismatch or a 8/1 on Haye show, this is a real pick em fight as PPV's should be.Wlad/AJ.....Spence /Brook ....not the above or Garcia /Khan these fights people know the result.Both Khan and Brook were involved in fights recently they couldn't win ...ok. Good for them as boxers careers are short and the money was good .

Brook should do well with the PPV as given the choice of Haye v Bellew or watching a proper fight I know which one I would buy.

Several reasons why I don't like this fight for Brook, and this is coming from a point of view of a fan who likes both fighters:

Bulking up from 147 to 160 then back down to 147 is not a wise idea and it wasn't even a wise idea for the fighter of the decade himself, Roy Jones Jr, vs someone who was seen as someone he should've beaten. Spence isn't exactly someone Brook SHOULD beat, it's actually a very dangerous fight and more risky for Brook.

Another reason why I don't like this fight is that unlike Roy, Brook didn't bulk up and won, he bulked up and got stopped. The least his promoter could do is get him a comeback fight at somewhere between 147-154 but I guess it makes too much sense and maybe Brook had a say in who he wants to fight and he chose to go straight in and defend his title against Spence to not lose the title.

What I like about this fight: God damn Brook fights anyone. I don't want to ever see people get amnesia and forget Brook just fought Porter, Golovkin and Spence in the last 2.5 years.

What you've written about the bulking up, is what everyone seems to overlook! Brook came down from 170+, to make 160 for GGG. Who knows where he's coming from, to get to 147 for Spence. If he were coming from 160 to 147, it's a 50/50 fight. If he's coming from 175 to 147, he's gonna get punished after round 5!

People on here haven't even seen Spence fight. They see a highlight KO reel. Too many mistakes, too many amateur tendencies. Brook is a seasoned pro in his prime.
