Comments Thread For: Klitschko: I Owed it To Emanuel Steward To Take the Joshua Fight

NEW YORK Wladimir Klitschko often talked to Emanuel Steward about finally finding that huge, career-defining fight. Steward preached patience as Klitschko continuously wondered when that type of challenge would present itself. Ukraine's Klitschko was growing impatient as he made one successful but forgettable title defense after another.

Klitshcko would have still been undisputed had Steward was still in his corner. He would have bad mouthed Klistchko all night during the fight after the fight had he performed like that while Steward is present.

Just a heads up: Wlad lost before he hired Emmanuel Steward. So he wasn't undefeated when Fury beat him.

It's good to hear Klitschko speak so highly of Emmanuel Steward! On another note, what's up with Kovalev and JDJ?

            February 7, 2017:

"I already see the ****ery starting already this year. Kovalev is blaming his loss to Andre Ward on John David Jackson. My problem is this, guys like that always say, 'I'm going to bring in somebody to help out.' Who can help the best trainer in boxing? Nobody," stated former world champion Nate Campbell, who shared his thoughts on an interview where former light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev slammed American trainers and expressed his desire to add a Russian trainer to his team. Check out what else Campbell had to say and how he thinks it will impact Kovalev's American trainer, John David Jackson.

Klitschko didn't like that win any more than others did. Nothing to brag about. It was a horrible fight.

First really big heavyweight fight in awhile.

Wlad's chin... we've all seen it (even though it's been a long time now).

This is the first time Wlad will be in danger in some time, I don't expect this to be like Fury out-slapping him all night.

Wlad is an old fighter, and if his Fury performance is any indication, he's right there to be knocked off by Joshua.

That said he is still a very imposing and skilled boxer, if he finds his jab and sticks with it then it won't be an easy night for Joshua.

This fight has history hanging off of it, I can't wait to see it go down.
