    Morales/Pacquiao 1 or Marquez/Pacquiao 1

Which fight do you like more. Morales had the better performance but I just love the first Marquez/ Pacquiao fight.

Marquez had the better performance. Had Morales got knocked down three times in the first round, he would not have won that fight. Morales was a 115-113 type of fight while Marquez-Pac was a 8-4 9-3 fight. But who had it more brutal it would be Pac vs MOrales.

marquez and pacquiao both took a lot of breaks in their fights. its in their styles. marquez needs time to figure you out and slow the figh, and manny is just such a whirlwind that he needs a breather.

morales recognized that manny wanted to have an on / off tempo, and didn't let him rest. makes for a better fight to rewatch, imo.

that said, seeing a fighter go down three times in the first round, twice very hard and while he was seriously hurt, and come back was probably the greater spectacle when i watched it at the time.

        better replay value - morales
        better live wildness - marquez

Sometimes it just amazes me how a prospect version of Pacquiao (1 handed brawler with no defense) could still make Mexican ATG's in their primes fits.

Morales/Pacquiao 1 is my favorite and the greatest fight of all time.

I went from casual to hardcore boxing fan overnight after that.

morales wasn't in his prime for any of the pacquiao fights. he'd been in certified wars and had 50 fights on his CV. he turned pro when he was in his middle teens.

and pacquiao was no prospect when he fought morales, either. he had just come off of a dominating win over over barrera, who was on the p4p list. pacquiao was already a world champion at several weights. not the complete fighter he would become later in life, but certainly not a prospect.

                Morales/Pacquiao baby.

Pac/Marquez was an amazing feat by Marquez and a high drama fight, but it's not all that exciting to rewatch as the rounds wear on. The end result was amazing though.

Morales/Pac was just a fuckin' barnburner. You knew you were seriously witnessing history as the fight progressed.

Skill wise and age wise a prospect version, but boxing experience wise no longer a prospect.

                    Morales-Pacquaio 1

Amazing fight and performance from a past prime Morales against one of the greats in their prime years.
