Comments Thread For: Robert Easter: None of These Other Lightweights Can Beat Me!

Friday night will be a momentous occasion for Robert Easter Jr. The unbeaten IBF lightweight champion has long dreamed of defending a world title in his hometown. That's exactly what the 26-year-old Easter (18-0, 14 KOs) will do against Puerto Rico's Luis Cruz (22-4-1, 16 KOs) in the main event of a Bounce TV telecast from Huntington Center in Easter's native Toledo, Ohio.

If your goal is just to defend ur title and not unify, u shouldnt be a boxer. The point is to be the best to get payed the best.

Whether he is right or not, I like this mentality. You're have a title, not try to unify and determine who is the champion of the division. Hopefully, he follows through with what he is saying. Getting a title with only 18 fights is impressive nowadays. If he keeps his level of opposition up, it would be great for the division and boxing.

Haymon wants mikey and easter to get all the belts then have a unification bout between the two. That'll be a big fight.

He might be right. Also, anyone notice how Mikey hasn't brought up his name yet?

he says he'll fight Linares or Flanagan but no mentioned of Easter? Hmm...

Easter needs to slow down and give Commey that rematch. (The first fight was something special) He's a very talented fighter in a division with some really good competition.

But I predict both Linares and Easter will take Ls to Mikey by the end of this year (or early next) and then Garcia will be on that PPV train. Although Easter is the better athlete, I think Garcia has the ring IQ (and corner) to best him.
