Can AJ Take a Good Punch?

I don't think he can from what I saw in the Whyte fight. I genuinely believe if Wlad can land a powerful one to his chin he'll be on ***** street. Then you have to think about Wlad's experience and how he could take it beyond the 8th, AJ's stamina is suspect.

He used to get rocked in the Amateurs quite a bit. It's fair to say he's only took one clean hard shot in the pro's which was against Whyte and he was on ***** street. He also stiffened up for a couple of rounds after, a bit like Bruno used to.

I guess we have to give him some credit for rarely getting hit so far in his pro career, but then that will change when he's in with good fighters.

I think we can probably say it's very suspect from the little evidence we have. Maybe he will prove he has a good chin but i wouldn't say the signs are great.

        Hes definitely packing glass.

He has taken ONE flush punch in his entire career, and it took him 2-3 rounds to fully recover.

Which is the reason i wont go mad on klit if he Ices him, it will be more exposing a glass chinned hype job than wlad being ' back ' as he's clearly shot to **** himself...

Big men can't take shots like they did way back in the day.

Primo Carnera and Jess Willard took punches that would kill the big guys of today.

I am a big fan of his but his chin does worry me. Even a 41 year old Wlad has great power in both hands and especially in his straight right. This fight could be a good test of his ability to take hard punches and keep fighting or not.

I would think the ability of big men to take hard punches would vary from man to man. I can't think of a logical reason why giant boxers of 70 to 100 years ago would have better chins on average than today's giant boxers. Vitali and Briggs are huge boxers with great chins.

His chin is suspect, their were rumors months ago he got dropped in sparring..

And that was with headgear on too.

If you look at his past, in the amateurs he got dropped from Whyte, Price and probably more unheard of.

Maybe that will change as he develops, but his chin is untested at this point.
