Angulo was shot before he came to hunter he shouldn't have taken him on he is what he is no d punch for punch zombie never will be a smooth boxer, khan boxes good no one khan fix his chin Berto better under hunter but will never be elite Ward he had since a kid how is he? Hunter should be more selective with stable

Whatever happened to the Fonfara vs Dawson fight that was supposed to be on undercard of Degale v Jack?

No man can train any boxer to beat the best boxer in the world Lord Golovkin, Virg ain't got nothing on GGG he should tell Ward to run for his life.

Fonfara is a second rate chump GGG would not only end his career he would end his life, all hail Lord Golovkin.

Bone Ridin and Bone Grindin, hard.

This is a bad decision by Fonfara. Virgil Hunter best fighters don't win because of Virgil they win because they are good enough to win already. Hunter can't improve a average fighter into a great fighter or even a good fighter. Virgil is the Jeff Fisher of trainers!!!

Hunter is known to help to try and max out the abilities of whatever fighter comes into his care; Angulo was never going to be a smooth boxer, but Hunter was able to get Angulo to commit to using some head movement and throwing his jab, vary the shots he was throwing on the inside, listen to instructions during the fight, and keep his mind motivated enough to fight through the rough patches.

Same thing with the work he's been able to do with Khan, and Berto, Mares, Fonfara, and the rest of the developed fighters he takes on; identify what the fighter is coming to his gym with, clear up the obvious mistakes in their style, try to add some tools that work with what the fighter has, and do his best to keep them motivated.

Still, when given a relatively blank canvass to work with (Ward, Barrios, Yoka, the heavyweight amateur that Hunter had Ward sparring for the Barrera fight, etc), Hunter's ability as a coach shines through.

Similar thing goes for Robert Garcia (who is clearly more selective in whom he chooses to bring on, as he's already got so many pups that he's bring along in his gym already); he takes the fighter as is, corrects the mistakes he can correct, add a few tools that he thinks will work for the fight, and then sticking to his own boxing brain to help in between the rounds.
