    Spence is not a prospect.

He's a champ in waiting that nobody seems to want parts of.

    Beating Spence would be HUGE.

U.K. Boxing is doing big things.

Didn't expect Spence to take a fight like this, this early, probably smart to do it now though, get some big names under his belt at this weight while he can still make it.

This seems like such a no brainer-make the Brook/Spence fight for one month after Garcia/Thurman and then match the winners.

Naw. The IBF is strict. They only gave them a one week extension. The WBA gave a 2 week extension and never enforced it. The IBF enforces their rules.

But it's funny how 2 days ago Hearn said they hadn't responded to his offers to "we're close". The offer he sent must've been a joke or he didn't send any offers.

A deal is nearly complete for Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs) to make a mandatory defense of his IBF welterweight championship against undefeated Olympian Errol Spence (21-0, 18 KOs). The IBF had ordered a purse bid, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow, but Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn requested a one week extension as both sides are close to reaching a deal. A deal was expected with Brook's side holding the edge if it went to a purse bid with a 75-25 split.

Have to see what they look like side by side before I make any predictions.

Spence has been able to physically manhandle everyone he's fought, he's always been the bigger stronger guy. If he can't do that with brook he could be in for a hard night though. Brook won't panic under pressure.

I remember spence had a fight maybe 2 years ago or so where he fought going backwards and he looked pretty clueless, and beatable.

Good fight, I think Brook takes a decision here, but if Spence pulls this off than I will start believing the hype around him.

Now we know for sure the fight is happening. You can't request an extension the day before the purse bid then announce a different fight a cpl days later. That would be considered a duck IMO.
