  • Comments Thread For: Andre Ward To Eubank: You Have to Crawl Before You Run!

Andre Ward couldn't help but laugh when he was told Chris Eubank Sr. said his son would "wreck" Ward. The undefeated Ward can appreciate Eubank's role in trying to generate attention for his son's fight against Australia's Renold Quinlan on Saturday in London. Ward cautioned the legendary Eubank and his son, though, that they'll eventually have to back up all their tough talk in a fight against a top opponent.

Class comments as usual by Ward. It's all a part of hyping yourself up. I know people are going to run in here and talk about Ward rematching Kov, which I think will happen, but his comments have nothing to do with that. Ward doesn't say he going to fight this person or that person. He has fought many good-great fighters and has a HOF career. He has every right to make these comments and respond to the Eubankses as if Jr isn't on his level; he isn't.

          Ward is right.

The bluster and bragging are all well and good, but eventually people are going to start asking when Eubank Jr is going to step up against someone good.

You'd think losing might make eubank more humble. But not in this case apparently.
Eubank should explain why it would be different this time. He owes that at the least.

I can picture Ward being a great trainer, and really a great teacher for young fighters.

First you have to learn to run before you can learn to hold and low blow. The sweet science takes time to learn! But hey if you don't got the patience and you think you're ready, could I maybe tap you in to fight Kovalev again for me?
When you've accomplished literally "everything in the sport" like Ward claims he--I mean, like Ward has, you really do have so much gold medal caliber wisdom to impart on the younger fighters. Like as a casual I know you can hurt your hand punching the other guy's head over and over, but what about his ****? How hard is the **** protector? Is your hand or wrist at risk punching that? How many times can you punch it without injuring your hand? If he gets mad and punches you back in the ****, what is the most effective way to whine to the ref so he warns your opponent, but never warns you?

All these things take a warrior's guts and a monk's wisdom. As the Son of God who is also a fearless warrior in the ring, Ward is literally the total and perfect package to be teaching the next generation of wrestlers--I mean boxers.

As far as i know, a champion always gets back on his feet. Which is what happened and then he applied the science and won.

I think it's safe to say that you should crawl yourself out of here.
