Comments Thread For: Felix Verdejo Decision Flores, First FIght After Motorcycle Accident

Felix Verdejo wasn't exactly spectacular, but he was victorious Friday night in his first fight since sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident last summer. Puerto Rico's Verdejo defeated Oliver Flores by unanimous decision in a 10-round lightweight fight in San Juan. Verdejo (23-0, 15 KOs) won on all three scorecards 99-91, 98-92, 96-94 to please an overwhelmingly pro-Verdejo crowd of 7,143 at Roberto Clemente Coliseum.

Pretty common trend in all his recent fights, no? What's new.

Fight will be delayed broadcasted in half an hour by Unimas.

But all articles out of PR say he looked horrible and was supposedly badly hurt in the 8th and the 10th round. I don't see him bearing Flannagan at this point and I doubt TR will risk putting him in there vs Flannagan after he reportedly looked so bad.

Verdejo looking like his usual self. And, while he continues to struggle against "lesser" opponents, Christopher "Pitufo" Diaz keeps looking better. If he keeps fighting like this, Pitufo will earn a World Title before Verdejo even looks at one. At this point, Verdejo would get pummeled by any of the champions in this division. Something VERY drastic needs to happen in his corner if he wants to keep his championship dreams alive.

I always felt the jury was still out on Verdejo, but it would suck if this kid's career was derailed by a damn motorcycle accident.

Good offensive fighter! But always rumored to be chiny (amatuer)....it will be interesting to see how hea handled ...my guess is a little slower to ensure little risk until he's ready.

It is his first fight after a layoff from injury. You dont have to destroy all your opponents.. sometimes you get rounds in to shake off the rust.

Flanagan is British level. Verdejo kills him.

Except Verdejo has looked nothing short of average even before the accident. So...?
