Does Having a Beard Cushion a Punch?

A shaven chin covered with vaseline would probably be more helpful because the punches could slide off more easily.

A big thick beard probably does soften punches a tiny amount. It's probably doesn't make enough difference to worry about. If the beard is too heavy the boxer is made to shave it anyway.

Not at all but longhair effects judging, that's why Thurman always has a tail or braids , when hair snaps back it makes the punch look stronger.

I can tell from lots that a lot of the guys here haven't grown beards from their replies. If they had ever had a beard in their life they would know that it can't protect your chin from any impact. That like asking, "Does a guy with a full head of hair have more protection from concussive punches to the head than a bald guy...It's ridiculous.
