Does Having a Beard Cushion a Punch?

Hi, was watching this fight before, Kimbo's beard is very bushy and long. I know Danny Williams fought with a beard but it was trim, but does a beard like the one Kimbo has in the video help with punches to the chin?

        Ask Margarito against Pacquiao.

Pacquiao said it was a bullseye on Marg's face

I don't know I think it just sometimes it looks like they're getting hit right on the chin when they aren't so it gives the perception they are absorbing the shot. But it can't hurt I guess to not be able to see the exact location of someone's chin

Absolutely. Anytime you add layers to the point of impact, it's going to absorb shock. How much? I don't know. But it will.

No but it makes it harder to land accurately on the chin
