As a Ward fan if he doesnt rematch Kovalev then he tarnishes his career

I'm 99.9% certain his threats of retirement are only so he can secure himself an even better deal that he got in the first fight (and he was treated as the A-side even then, despite Kovalev being the champion... Even Ward's own trainer Virgil Hunter complained about the disparacy in pay between the two.)
They will rematch and Ward will get. I have no doubts about that.

It does not matter what the numbers say...at some point the people responsible for making the numbers jump have to do their job.
I often joke because Dante master of death, deadly martial artist lol, (real name John Keenan and he was a hair dresser!) to promote what was the first full contact tournament for martial arts perhaps in this country, around the 1960's literally walked a bull down the busiest street in Chicago telling people he would be taking the Bull's horn off with a knife hand strike.
Don King and Arum, even at their age, would do the same thing and more!!! if it took it to bring interest to a fight. I just don't see the promoters here doing anything!!! 5 million is not a lot of money, this fight could be handled a lot better, regardless of Ward's demands.
Tell people that ***** has money on Kovalev!walk a bull...do what it takes to promote the fight and we may not have this problem.

Yeah, remember that Ward sat out 2 years over a contract dispute that he probably could have just settled.
He'll negotiate over a dollar. I neither respect or disrespect that. It's his career and his brain cells, so his decision.
I'm an Eastbay native, but no longer much of a fan. I was excited after the Super 6... And then he went away, and then he fought showcases. What's there to get excited about?
Kovalev fight, of course, was exciting. Now I want him to avenge his Giftory.
But I doubt he cares that my p4p lists Kovalev as 2a and Ward as 2b
