Mikey may prefer to fight immediately, but he's simply going to have to move with the TV opportunity. Showtime has a date for Mikey Garcia in June, and the seeming plan is to match him with the winner of Jorge Linares vs Anthony Crolla (who fight in March).

Easter Jr would be an option (I doubt that either camp wants that fight this soon), but I'd watch to see what happens with Linares-Crolla and Terry Flanagan.

Lomachenko willing to fight Pacquiao, Crawford at 135. He should fight Mikey at 135 then. I know is not going to happen as its not big enough for the risk they are taking.

The more Mikey the better in my book.

Has nothing to do with this conversation but ok, way to show your pettiness.

Glad Mikey is fighting 3 to 4 times this year. But if Linares wins I'm not sure that's enough time to get him ready for Mikey.

I'm interested to see who they have in mind because the champions are all scheduled for March fights.

GGG won't make the kind of money that Mikey would, if he moves up! Even if GGG had moved up to fight Ward @ 168 (which I think he should have done), it wouldn't have been as big as Pacquiao vs. Garcia @ 140! Pacquiao vs. Crawford would do half the money Pacquiao vs. Garcia would do! The only wild card is Broner vs. Garcia at 140! That's easier to make, and will be attractive if Broner gets the kind of KO that Mikey just had!

Great news and hopefully it comes true. Mikey don't rent, Mikey don't lease, Mikey owns.

he should stay at 135 for a while, unify, make a couple of defenses, the guy just fought like for the second time at lightweight and somewant him to move up already,he should stay there, lightweight is a division where all time greats fought, why not join them? i like it when fighters like hopkins made all those title defenses in one weight class, trinidad at welter, etc,, nowadays its like two fights and people say move up and if you dont you are accused ofducking certain fighters

I'm glad Mikey will be staying active this year.

While he's waiting for Linares he should consider facing Terry Flanagan, even if he has to travel to the UK. That would be a nice payday and it gets him the WBO belt.

June doesn't seem realistic for Linares/Crolla winner - late March. June will probably be a lower level fight, which is OK I guess, but I feel Team Garcia saying they want to make up for lost time.
