But no doubt most people have eyes, they know it's true.

Can't compare any Vegas fight to Ward fighting in his home city of Oakland. If Ward can't sell out in his own state, wtf.

Canelo v Khan didn't sell out easy in Vegas and Canelo did 50k in Texas.

Ward won the fight dirty or not.
It's amazing how people wanna claim Ward was dirty and that he did this or that but they cannot bring to themselves how Kovalev threw away the fight from round 5 onwards.
His aggressiveness went down the drain when Ward kept on hugging him.

It was dirty, ass boring, but in the end effective for Ward.

      You mentioned Ward's ppv numbers.

You can't talk about that without also talking about his dance partner Kovalev and his popularity, or lack thereof.

I've heard this theory from more than one person & I think you could be right. Ward hasn't been a hero for US fight fans after winning a gold medal for the country & going thru a murders row of top 168lbers as a prospect more or less to become the best guy at 168 & was the rooting dog in a fight vs a Russian in a fight in the US. He can't be ****** enough to think he'll ever be a hero at this point for boxing fans & I think its a solid theory Ward has decided to get meta with his own persona & take on the bad guy role & part of that is just getting people talking about you by whatever means necessary & this could be seen as such a way for a guy who's not really got the verbal venom of the better sh^t talkers in the game.

And I mean with what most boxing fans want any guy without that big KO ability or face on their opponents chest all night style of fighting you probably just need to bite the bullet & take the bad guy role cuz the masses will never love a slick boxer who's trying to outpoint you over 36 minutes.

        • Ward is doing a great job of garnering interest in the rematch

and I'm guessing he will be treated like a king during the buildup

          totally deserved !

result will be the same, a close/controversial decision to Ward

          Stevenson will be next !

            and after Ward beats Stevenson.....

            * golov-b1tches will still insist that Ward has never fought anyone..... they will say that with a straight-face, as Gennady prepares to rematch Dominic Wade

            * Kova-b1tches will still insist that Ward lost, despite being totally unable to explain how their guy won

            rinse, wash, repeat

            • Retiring after a fight with a mandatory rematch clause where you were wobbled, knocked down, and most thought you lost -- immediately following the robbery of the year on the undercard favoring a guy who shares your promoter and landed about 2 punches over 10 rounds -- that will be a quality farewell.

Sugar Ra, let's just say you are half right. I will concede the first part of the statement. But you have to admit he has whined and complained a whole bunch since the Super Six tournament.

BS we all see them still crying about that fight, THESE PEOPLE ARE THE SAME HYPOCRITES that say punch stats dont matter, then come right back and try to argue that punch stats say it all, depending on if their guy is on the right side of the decision....

Pretty much this. He knows damn well he rec'd a gift. The guy didn't win the 1st fight, whines and moans about staying in the game, knows he was beat the he!! up in the first fight, too skeeeered to fight on. Won't even give fans the chance to watch him get annihilated by Kov in the rematch. I'll just do like I always did when he does commentary... turn the volume down. Like I did when that Smith dolt did some commentating. Lamoids.
