    The World Boxing Association has ordered a purse bid between former world champion Shannon "The Cannon" Briggs and Puerto Rican contender Fres Oquendo for the vacant "regular" heavyweight title of the WBA. The two teams were called to negotiate on the 2nd of January and they were given a deadline of 30 days before a purse bid was finally called. Because tehre has been no agreement between them, the WBA's Championships Committee has ordered the bid.

            This reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Bart walks into an auction room and bids a buck for a building no one wants.

            This fight might not even get a buck.
