My friend on the the west coast says the Showtime card came on live at 6PM or whatever it was, but the HBO card gets delayed 3 hours and didn't come on until 10PM. So naturally everyone was watching Showtime first.

right...that's why HBO always exploited Nicaraguan's fanbase for Roman Gonzalez on the undercard of GGG, as if Nicaraguan-American based citizens didn't know about Arguello...

except that the hbo card was actually the better card top to bottom in terms of action. you guys always like to blow these pbc fights out of proportion.the fans chose to watch the well known fighters like garcia santa cruz and frampton they probably didn't know hbo had a card on.

Good for Showtime but its not like it was a blow out! 100,000 more viewers! The Showtime card was hugely promoted while the HBO card wasn't as much. The Showtime card clearly had the mini star power compared to HBO. Good night of boxing all around. HBO is still by far the boxing capitol & Showtime will have their shine every now & then. HBO just knows how to develop STARS! Thurman, Wilder, etc, would be huge stars if they were on HBO.

I was switching back and forth but stayed on the Showtime card the most. I only watched maybe 5 rounds of the whole HBO telecast tbh.

              I disagree.

The HBO card featured 4 B level fighters in against each other. The SHO card featured the consensus FOTY Frampton in a rematch against another A level fighter Santa Cruz and the opener featured Garcia, a fighter most had at A level before the long layoff, in a fight against an undefeated champ where he was considered an underdog by many. Additionally, SHO had the lead in of 2 highly touted prospects on SHO extreme.

I don't mind that you prefer "action". I prefer highly skilled fighters in against each other more so than I do 2nd tier guys beating the crap out of each other.

If you think the HBO card was better is fine. You are not much of a boxing fan anyway so your opinion doesn't mean anything to me.

Bottom line is there were 2 good cards and I watched both.
