My understanding is that a Nevada Judge ruled that the Nevada Boxing Commission (or whatever the full name is) could not continue to suspend his license there after the license expired. Thus, it appeared to me that Baby Joe won the court case by a technicality rather than on the merits. As far as I know, Mesi has not gone back to Nevada seeking a license.

Obvioulsy, Puerto Rico must have given him a license, and I guess Lousiana has or will give him one, too.

Any more word on this fight on July 5 or 7? The article linked in the original post mentioned it could be broadcast on ESPN? I'd like to see it. I hope Mesi and his medical advisors have got it right.

It appears Joe must be having a hard time finding sparring partners as set forth towards the end of this article: http://www.niagara-gazette.com/sport...secondarystory

      We all die.

As for me, if given a choice between dying while doing what I loved, in front of a giant audience that is rooting for me, fighting for the heavyweight title somthing that I had pursued my entire life, or

Locked up in a resthome. Unable to remember anyone who cares for me, if any still do. Going to the bathroom on myself, unable to even watch television because it was too hard to focus. Being in constant pain until I finally gave up, in front of no one, alone, tired, unloved....

      I'd pick the ring.

You may feel differently, but respect the man's choice.

To take away someone's power to decide, is to take away the only thing in life that really mattters.

If that was the case he wouldn't be 30-0.

I dont want Mesi to enter the ring as a boxer again, to me its not worth screwing yourself up over. He was a great boxer that had his career cut short. Unless this brain bleeding s very minor, which I highly doubt, then Mesi needs not to box.

        Does he have a family?

If mesi is active, after a few fights he could be getting a world title shot, if he is undefeated and winning against top 10 or top 15 fighters impressively
