leo already beat mares and, tbh, the third fight with Frampton likely delivers more money than a second fight with Mares.

Let the fighters get a little bit of a rest, stage the third fight for June/July (honestly not sure where they'd stage the fight for the third time, but running it back in Las Vegas isn't that bad an idea; staging it at a stadium in Belfast would be utterly nuts, though), and watch both guys each take home a million dollars to their families.

Were they not to fight each other, where would each guy go? Mares is there, but there's no other fight that delivers either guy anywhere near the money that a third fight would.
There is plenty of other fights at 126.
People are probably scared to see them lose to someone else in the division. I knew I may get a reply like this.

What if LSC and Frampton can beat some of the other big names at 126? That would make the third fight even bigger.

close fights merit that the fighters run it back; the third fight gets put together, the score hopefully finally gets settled (hope to God for it not to be a draw), and then the fighters can move on to other business.

If Santa Cruz fights Mares, and Mares wins the rematch, that would inherently mean that there'd be a third fight.

Personally, I don't like to see loose ends; whether they can or can't beat anyone else, moving on when there's unfinished business is honey****ing the fight fan.

the rest of the names at 126lbs are going to be around after they run the third fight this summer.

Well, the third fight can always happen later. It's also always going to be around, most likely.
If they don't fight for the third time that doesn't mean it won't ever happen.
Sometimes we need to see something new.

Great fight I had it 116-112 for Leo. I wouldn't mind a third fight but not next.

Should have been a UD for Leo. I'M ok with 115-113 or possibly 116-112. LSC's game plan just about worked out. Any rematch should be in Belfast. August at Windsor Park?

Frampton needs to be sharper in any rematch. I agree with shane M ... he looked a bit sluggish - could be he put on too much weight overnight.

Great fight, looking forward to the third showdown (hopefully in Belfast). I was really impressed with the adjustments made by LSC. He showed some really great boxing skill (didn't know he had it in him lol) and was landing the cleaner shots all night. Frampton looked top shelf too (his head movement and footwork were sharp), he just couldn't land cleanly.
