Should Oscar have taken the $100 million from Haymon?

In the court filings it became public info that GBP loses money on all events except for Canelo.

Even on Canelo fights GBP only makes $3 million.

This doesn't count the administrative/staff fees GBP incurs throughout the years that get subtracted from the Canelo fights. At $5 million net revenue it would theoretically take GBP 20 years to walk away with $100 million free and clear if everything went perfect and they retained the top PPV star in the world.

It seems pretty ****** of Oscar to turn down that money when it's clear he can't handle the stress.

His company he can do whatever he likes. But he made the classic mistake all junkies make when they first become clean. When you first become clean you're just as delusional as you were when you were getting high. He could've sold and retained minority ownership, like the Zuffa bros. did with the UFC. But it's his company. He took the punches to the face to establish his company.

Did Haymon offer $100m for GBP? Us Brits aren't up on all of this news.

No because he is already rich made hundreds of millions as a fighter and by all accounts saved his money and has successful investments. A quick Google search says his net worth last year was over 200mil. So what's a 100m buy out to a man who will be wealthy the rest of his life no matter what?

There are 2 kinds of owners who get involved in sports. 1. The owner who cares nothing about it and just buys it for the bottom line to invest cheap and then cash out once it's profitable and they get a good sale price. 2. The owner who is already rich and buys in just to be involved in that specific sport. Oscar is that. He's a life long boxer who wants to continue being around the sport and having a influence on the sport so why sell the brand he created that allows him to do that? Oscar doesn't promote because he has to financially he does it because he likes it.

If he likes it so much why do I hear from the GBP staff that he's a stress case LOL.

You hear from staff? Dude you a Internet troll but you want us to believe you have first hand sources in golden boy offices? Sure buddy. Lmao

Oscar's issue are with addiction not with being around boxing. He could have the same issues maybe even more if he wasn't around the sport he loves. Most addicts say having a job, the schedule/daily routine help them more then when they just sitting at home with nothing to do.

Well, that is surprising. He could have sold out for $100m and then started all over again from scratch. He would always have the draw of his name behind any promotional company. If GBP is sinking then seems like a really bad business move. You have to take into account, when these men are already ****** rich, it has to be an ego thing for them. All big time promoters are the same. They are obsessed with having their name attached to the top fighters.
