Not an easy fight for Matthysse after the layoff.He should take a tune up.

if im not mistaken, i thought matthysse made the move to 147 once and didnt show he brought his power up. lets see what the lay off did for him. but once an eye is injured, it will consistantly swell in every fight.

Checked that out and he did indeed go 10 rounds with a guy who in his fight b4 Matthyse went 12 rounds with none other than Canelo at 150 pounds,this was in 2008,interesting record,tough bigger guy.Check out boxrec.

Also he fights at super middle now (168) so he's a big and durable dude who's only been stopped 5 times in 20 losses. Judah, Bradley and Alexander have all claimed lucas hit them the hardest, harder than cotto, Provodnikov and Maidana so I wouldnt worry about the power but rather Lucas' small frame and can he handle the physical strength of welterweights.

I'm not sure if Matthysse can bounce back from that eye/face injury. Those types of injuries are usually career ending for a boxer or fighter.

you are right. check out margarito and his terminator eye. also kell brook better keep that eye protected too. GGG smashed that eye pretty good too.

wouldn't be shocked if cano schooled mathyysse at this point.you have to question his eye injury and his heart.lucas looks like a fighter who's lost the will to win after his loss to postol.
