This is false. Kovalev was the busier fighter in 11/12 rounds, with the 1 being 29-32. Your comment about inactivity is not true

As for being out boxed, I disagree with that as well. Everyone talked about how Ward out boxed him in later rounds and on the inside, but they're completely ignoring what Kovalev did. He was incredibly successful on the inside as well.

The fight was heavily influenced by styles. Kovalev was the bully early, and was easy to score for. Later on, it became more of Wards type of fight, and everyone just gave him the rounds because nobody can possibly see kov out boxing Ward. Those last 6 rounds were close, with 2 clear ward rounds and 1 clear kov round. There's no justification for giving all 6 to ward. The judges were influenced by reputations and by fans.

The rounds that Kovalev won were clear. The rounds that Ward won were not as clear. I posted my card on here ~2-3 weeks ago and I scored it 5-4 for Ward. The remaining rounds were swing rounds that depended on what you like. I will gladly discuss those rounds if anyone is interested.

Kovalev hurt Ward 2-3 times during the fight and Ward only hurt Kovy once (when Kovy "fell" onto the canvas and then later in the round through the ropes - dude was gassed).

Most of the eye-catching shots were landed by Kovy so it's easy to see why casuals cried robbery, but its sad when posters on a boxing site cry robbery because the fight was in no way a robbery. A close fight that could be scored either way and I felt both guys gave a good account and have room for improvement

Ward had Kovalev missing all night, Kov fans keep counting his misses as landed punches.

If he really did land that many shots, why couldn't he put Ward down again after a 2nd round knock down? Either Kovalev was missing or Ward's chin is THAT great.

Why was Barrera able to damage Ward's face more so than Kovalev?





The truth is he was missing, Ward had him looking foolish in there.

Good thing punches landed don't win fights. People use punches landed only when it's convenient to them AND ignore everything else.

This is like judging a winner by facial damage.

Same as the judges had Bradley winning vs Pacman in their first fight. If you just blindly follow others without questioning it then i really pity you. Just curious for the people who believe that Ward was not gifted the decision, what reasons do you have that could justify him winning that fight? I have watched it 3 times now and I still have Kovalev winning by 3-4 rounds. Please break it down for me
