The Merchant Bias?

well it's obvious that Merchant has a thing for Oscar, i'm not sure Merchant was that bad throughout the Mayweather vs Judah bout,i do remember him saying "he's doing better than i thought he would" but it was obvious he didn't think very highly of Judah.

i caught onto that too. trying to downplay mayweathers achievements while making odlh's performance over that indio that tito exposed like climbing k-2. merchant, for all of his good that he does to the sport, is at the same time a cancer. he and lamps have a huge love affair w/ odlh, and while thats cool, they use that to **** on the merits of other boxers, i.e., mayweather.

same thing goes for the telecast on saturday night, ****en singing hattons praises while collazo was the one in there doing everything better, i still don't know how mf'ers scored that fight for hatton.

this fight and the toney/jirov fight, horrible scoring by lederman.

I didnt like the way through the whole Floyd & Zab fight that Merchant would kill Zab and act like he was a bum. He killed him before the fight, through the fight, and after the fight. He made it sound like Zab was a bum with no skill. He also basically spit on what Floyd was doing because everytime Floyd would do anything, Larry would basically say "yeah but Zab sucks". Why would you do this when you also have "some" mainstream fans tunning in and wont think anything of the fight.

But then when Oscar fights Mayorga, Steward starts downing Mayorga and Merchant goes crazy about that. He act like he was really getting upset about it and was always quick to defend Mayorga.

Thats B.S. and it looked like he was showing alot of favortism towards Oscar over Floyd. Floyd's win means nothing but Oscar's win was so great and he beat a much better opponent? I dont think so.

Merchant old ass need to ****ing retire...he always destroy the loser...i loved how traver got dead on his ass when he was trying to clown roy jones after the third fight....traver shut his ass up....****ing punk....his old ass dont know boxing..

True and in that Hopkins/Oscar fight he kinda annoyed Hop by failing to give Hop his due for just dropping and defeating a legend in Oscar. He kept saying I had you loosing up until the KO and what was taking you a whie to get going ETC. You could tell Hop was a little annoyed and more importantly he should have been giving more credit no matter if he likes Hop or not.

I always preferred the British commentators. They're right on the money and will stop mid-sentence to comment on what just happened. Larry Merchant will continue with his long ass 4 minute speech (which takes a normal person about 30 seconds) while action is taking place.

I don't like Emmanuel Steward, he's biased too.
