no it doesn't. this is not a PPV fight. all the fans of boxing will have plenty of time to hear about the fight, and tune in.
this fight would not be any bigger in 3 months...
Ortiz called Wilder out, and is ready to go.
Let's do it, Wilder.

They could do it tomorrow for all I care, but like the Joshua fight they should promote it better, doing a 3 weeks thing isn't going to make this fight big. They can get he fight done but schedule it for May and hype it up.

Joshua is a huge name in the UK, and does PPV over there.
He does actually need time to hype up his fights, particularly bigger fights because he is on PPV, and will sell accordingly.
Wilder vs Ortiz, however, isn't a PPV here in USA - and it's not gonna be any "bigger" whether it's tomorrow, or five months, it's not gonna be any bigger.
Showtime or HBO would likely pay about 2-3 million for this fight, and that's the most they're ever gonna pay.

I think this fight needs more time to be made (just like a Fury fight with Wilder). I understand Deontay needing a fight against a lesser opponent because of his hand.
So negotiate a fight with Ortiz for after that fight. Start the negotiations now and iron out the details to get an agreement on paper that says that fight will happen next.
