Why would TR be upset about GGG-Jacobs? Isn't it the day after? And it's PPV so it won't take away TV viewership from their show... plus, you know, it's not even the same day. But what it will do is bring in way more boxing fans to NY that weekend who will be thinking "since I traveled here anyway, may as well catch two shows for the travel expenses of one, and check out the local TR show the night before."

I don't see how GGG-Jacobs could do anything but help the TR card. But I assume Duboef knows what he's talking about so what am I missing? How would GGG-Jacobs hurt their show? Just take the focus off it onto the bigger show I guess? But even with less focus, there are still more boxing fans in NY that weekend as a result of GGG-Jacobs, so I mean, getting 20% focus of 100 people is no better than getting 10% focus of 200 people.

As for Katie Taylor, wouldn't she just bring even more Irish fans to NY? I can't imagine Irish fans would go to the trouble of watching Taylor but not check out Conlan. I mean maybe Taylor would bring in Ronda Rousey fans like little girls and stuff who don't watch men's boxing, but TR wouldn't be getting those viewers either.

Naw. Just Top Rank stuck in the past using their old formula to build fighters. Back when Top Rank and Don King were the only tow big promotions. They haven't adjusted to competition.
