Comments Thread For: Tureano Johnson: Golovkin Has Flaws, Jacobs Has Great Shot To Win

Having not fought since October 2015 due to injury, Tureano Johnson (19-1, 13 KOs) is understandably chomping at the bit to get back in the ring this Saturday in Indio, California. Mexico's Antonio Gutirrez (21-2-1, 9 KOs) will likely provide a stiff test for the returning middleweight who defeated Eamonn O'Kane last time out via unanimous decision.

Jacobs vs lil G and Thurman vs Garcia are the two best fights out there so far. (TMT)

Possible that he'll get the winner alright I guess. If it's Golovkin and he can't get Saunders or Canelo straight away, then Tureano would probably be an acceptable option. The same goes for Danny. If he beats Golovkin then Tureano in Brooklyn would definitely make sense as a sort of victory lap.

the duration of the fight depends on Jacobs chin.

Everyone has flaws but what everyone doesn't have is the hardest punch in the mw division and the best chin in boxing that you can't teach and ggg has it

GGG is flawed and Brook was able to get him with some big (for Brook) shots, but GGG's chin and punching power have more than made up for his flaws so far.

Not many blows land on his chin unless he just doesn't respect the opponents power - otherwise he has his chin well tucked in.
If you look at some of his early pro fights then he just stands and slugs in the middle of the ring - street stylee.

I'm guessing that after close to 450 pro and amateur fights plus ?? rounds of sparring, he must have a very good idea of what his chin can stand up to. Its a bit like jumping off a wall when a kid - you know the height you can comfortably drop from without your knees hurting and you ankles moaning.

Still, could be that Jacobs is the hardest or second hardest puncher he has been in with until now - Lemieux punches harder?
