Dude what is the fascination with Lara?? You said in another thread that this would be a great fight. Well can you point me to at least one fight Lara was in that was considered 'great', or even decent, where we would want to see him in with Brook? I totally get the barometer thing if that's where you're going, and I admit to the Cuban's skills. But he is so far from must see TV, he puts on a horrible show every time he's featured. Brook has so many options - - why a boring fight with Lara? So high risk and low reward...

Lara is definitely a top 10 P4P fighter, and he is the WBA SWW Champion. Brook does not have "so many options." He has to come all the way back down to 147 and fight Spence Jr., and that's not a good look! He's not getting Pacquiao, or Garcia, or Thurman, or Cotto, or Canello, oe KHan, so what are his options? MIght as well move up to 154, like his team advised him to do, and since he's going to 154, he might as well challenge the best...Erislandy Lara!

Agree with these points. If he can't get the big fish you listed, for whatever reasons, it's a move to 54 for sure! He bragged about his condition (of course) and as you know he weighed in heavier than 3G.

But I don't think he's tops at 54. A sharp Lara, 6 years ago, who beat Paul Williams, could run the table. But I think now I would favor Andrade to beat him. And I think mall charlo beats him. Irrelevant right now but obviously Canelo runs him out of the ring.

But it's all about business man. If I give Lara anything these days it's that the dude is super high risk for very low reward.

That's incorrect because Brook has the option and ability to fight anywhere from 147 to 160. Can't be desperate when you have opponents in 3 divisions to pursue.

He doesn't have much options IMO, He is backed into a corner by his belt, he has to vacate it and head to 154. At 154 he has to pray someone like Cotto comes calling, Maybe Liam smith would be interested at home here. I thought he had a chance of fighting Canelo but that seems to have gone for now. So basically his fighting options are Lara, charlo brothers, liam smith, spence , trout etc

He should be at a level right now, where he is fighting the Garcia/Thurman winner, but because he hasn't really taken on anyone decent at 147, others would laugh at him when he comes to the negotiation table, with his belt and one good win his whole career.

He would end up getting offered 30% or less for his efforts.
