Comments Thread For: Leo Santa Cruz: I'll Fight Different Than in First Frampton Bout

Carl Frampton figures Leo Santa Cruz will approach their rematch similar to the way he boxed in their first fight. Santa Cruz relentlessly pressured Frampton, who was able to box effectively enough to win convincingly on two of three scorecards and brawl enough to help make their 12-rounder one of the best action fights of 2016. On a conference call Thursday, however, Santa Cruz contended that he'll be more tactical during their rematch January 28 in Las Vegas because it'll give him a better chance to win back the WBA world featherweight championship he lost to Frampton on July 30 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Lets go LSC.........hoping you can make the necessary adjustments to come out on top........although I won't be mad if Frampton wins, fan of both guys.

He needs to do something different for sure cuz last time Frampton had him figured out. LSC has the ability, can not rely on volume this time around. Hoping we get a trilogy and a rivalry out of this.

He kept bringing up his Dad as reason for losing last time. Fact is, he's peaked. There's nothing else left in the arsenal. Meanwhile, Frampton improves with every fight, with the lone exception of one a couple years back can't remember which fight offhand. I see a repeat of the last one.

Needs to speed up the jab, he needs to be first and third because Frampton will be second cause he's looking to counter. He needs to block with the other hand if he's countered off the jab and then counter with short punches up the middle. And push his head down and make it a brawl, draw Frampton in to the brawl, use the jab but make Frampton move around he's not the most mobile.

Well of course...duh he lost the first fight. If he comes with the same game plan he will be out boxed by Frampton again. Who loses and says I will do the exact same thing again?

Thing is he can't do anything new. He is what he is at this point. I got Frampton winning again.

He wont perform better. His style is all about workrate and pressure and it wasnt enough for frampton. If he tries to box with the better boxer Frampton, it will be easier for frampton, because it gives him more time and room to think.

The thing is facing pressure always works better for a shorter, counter puncher. It creates the windows he needs to land and Frampton did that masterfully last fight. If LSC makes carl lead and does not fall in after the jab he has a decided reach advantage and can make carl take risks to get inside. For LSC to win a rematch he has to be the ring general and I'm not certain he can. Frampton ud
