I think a lot of fans have doubts about him. If he loses to a guy moving up in weight, there aren't a lot of options available to him. He's too big to move down and there are too many tough fights at 154.
    My thoughts exactly.

Depends on the fight but if it is a quality fight I doubt either loses much.

If either guy gets laid out it would be an obvious step back, but both will still be able to get a big fight fairly easily.

If Thurman loses you probably see a Porter rematch, and if Garcia loses probably a fight with Broner but those fights could just as easily take place if they win.

Bundu, pretty solid and seasoned Welterweight. Whether or not Spence KO'd him, Bunde got his L from Thurman. On top of that, Brook had already chosen to fight a beaten Gavin from Bundu. Watch the Bundu vs Gavin bout. Bundu is more skilled.

Porter, FOTY candidate. theory or no theory, close fight, and only proves Thurman was battle tested by a known bulldozing fighter.

Collazo, seasoned and heavy handed former Champ turned laxed journeyman. A guy whom should'Ve been awarded 2 extra points from Khan's 80 total clinches in that bout. Yes, Khan was deducted a point and warned for excessive holding. That bout alone was equalled to about 2-3 Klistchko bouts... Plus, at least some pretty work fighting the Southpaw. A mean left cross from a hard hitting Southpaw ala Collazo has more weight imo than DSG at 147.

Guerrero, again, already beaten by Thurman before DSG got there...Southpaw work...move on..

Chaves , a crafty hard hitting Welter who's dirty tactics, regardless, couldn'T be floored by non 147 power ala Rios or Bradley.

Garcia is going to have come on two A Games to beat Thurman on the cards. Thurman is also good at lunging to the body just like Danny. I just see speed alone at this weight is in favor of Thurman. If it goes 12, I expect Danny's face to look like Chocos vs Cuadras. Ironically, DSG might surprisingly win too?!

WBC and WBA mando's or top 5, yes Spence is in there, however if not chosen and Spence can claim the IBF, beter for 147 boxing. I think Q4 2017 or Q1 2018.

This is just terrible. A fighters first loss does not make a career suffer. But this is one reason why fighters today are reluctant to consistently face top competition. A loss, and the "fans" are ready to call their career a failure.

I agree I don't see either guy being hurt too much from a loss.

The winner will rightfully get a huge boost in his career though.

It all depends on how either one loses... Santa Cruz lost but it didn't set him back all that much because he fought a great fight and narrowly lost... If someone gets blown out then obviously it's a big setback

I think a lot of people can't wait to say " I told you so" about Garcia and most think Thurman is gonna beat him...

I've got to say Thurman will suffer more with a loss.. Danny has a history of being a lower weight class belt holder too.. Thurman started a WW & in all likely hood someone of the big names don't even mention him enough, Danny if he loses can still have a grudge match with Amir..
