Gatti wouldn't beat Hatton at any weight. Don't be delusional.

Before Saturday I'd have given Hatton a 50/50 chance. Now - **** all. He's not got a cat in hell's chance and I'm one of his biggest fans. I've been to see him live eleven times and met him personally, and so it really pains me to say it. If he's real impressive next time then fair play but on that showing he should avoid Floyd like he had AIDS that was contagious by touch...Comment

hatton has no chance. dont know if u guys remember, a great article came out a little while ago called "most overrated fighters" and it was about hatton and margarito. if u can find it i would suggest reading it again its pretty good.Comment

I disagree with that, you're not gonna beat Mayweather in boxing, you have to brawl and play dirty against Floyd if you want to win. And Floyd can be frustrating to Hatton, Hatton has to be calm but agressive at the same time if you know what I mean, he just can't let Floyd get his rythm if he wants to win...Originally posted by JuicyJuiceIf he stays at 140 now, gets in a few fights to get sharp, and makes the Mayweather fight in under 12 months then I believe he has the ability to run Mayweather close. The more I think of it, the less likely I believe Hatton would beat Mayweather by jumping on him. I'd like to see Hatton start using some of his old boxing skills again, the last time we really saw his 'boxing' skills was the Tackie fight. I honestly think that Hatton the Boxer can give Mayweather a closer fight than being a non-stop swarmer. Hatton definately needs to use his smarts and tools if he wants to run Mayweather close, the more I think of it.
And take no notice of the Collazo fight because Hatton entered that ring at 160lbs! It was a laughing stock!Comment

I'm not saying that Hatton should stand at range and have a skill-fest with Mayweather, I just don't think he should smother him like he did Tszyu. Mayweather's in-close punching, footwork, timing, I don't think Hatton should be a non-stop swarmer against him. Hatton needs to use the best of his own skills, his own footwork, the movement of the head on the way in, the little jab on the way out, the side-stepping to open his opponent up, etc. He can't be too one-dimenstional against Mayweather, he needs to show Mayweather his toolbox and keep Mayweather thinking.Originally posted by aljonI disagree with that, you're not gonna beat Mayweather in boxing, you have to brawl and play dirty against Floyd if you want to win. let's not forget where this fight took place as that was a huge factor.I just don't think he should smother him like he did Tszyu.
true. he clinched at least close to a dozen times in many of the rounds.all he would do after that is clinch. He did that over a dozen times..
i don't mind some clinching, providing it's tactical. hatton, though, would jump in with a punch or two and immediately clinch when he should've stepped back, pushed off, or boxed on the inside. so he was initiating most of the clinches.
in short, i don't think that he could beat mayweather. mayweather has at least as quick of a combo as collazo and seems to have a better ring IQ. pbf is a trickier fighter as well.Comment
